Trying this again using ICare2 w/18mg juice. I cough my head off every time I use it. Do I need different mg dose? Help

iCare 2 uses a 1.3ohm coil, so the most it would vape at would be just over 13 watts.

13 watts with 18mg liquid could be seen as equivalent to 36mg in an old-tech device (at 6.5 watts)

So, yes - it could well be too strong. I struggled to vape 18mg much over 10w back in the days.

In truth, I coughed using 24mg in a 5-6 watt cig-a-like in 2012.

The particles in vapor are not the same as tobacco smoke. They are cleaner (oh yeh!) but they do take some getting used to for some people.

Sometimes high PG can also be mildly irritating and adds to throat hit. You might try a bit lower Pg ratio juice as well.

It could be the nicotine dose, newer devices tend to be more efficient, agree that it might be too high PG level as well (seems as though VG level has dropped too, with more efficient devices) but it could just be making the switch. I coughed quite a bit transitioning although lowering my nic level did help.

Not sure if you just started, but alot of new vapors cough and usually it's just because the lungs aren't use to vapor. I remember coughing at first and couldn't believe it...what made it easier was to hold the vapor in my mouth for a couple seconds, then inhale. I had to do this for a couple weeks until my lungs adapted

Hats off to ya, would drop me on the spot.

Like others have said, drop down. You won't continue if you're getting creamed by that nic on every hit. Would drive me back to cigs as well.

Any Eleaf device using the tiny ic coil will present problems for new users. The coil has almost no wicking. Usually you will also experience gurgling and spitting of hot juice in your mouth.
