Hiya guys, first off i'd just like to just introduce myself. My names Mike and i started vaping about 4 weeks ago. I've tried to avoid signing up here and asking all the usual noob questions and have instead opted to browse the forum as an outsider and find for myself the answers to all my questions.

I have had to sign up today because i just can't seem to find a definitive solution/answer to a problem i am having with an Olympian Dual Coil tank that i purchased yesterday.

Olympian Dual Coil Tank

I have followed instructions that i have found on youtube (as the thing itself doesnt come with any instructions) but i just cn't seem to get a decent pull/puff from it. It also tastes a little burnt. I am using it with an Ego T battery which i presume is ok as it is advertised as having an Ego connection. Anyone else ever had a similair problem or does anyone have a solution??

Also, i have dripped a few drops directly onto the atty to 'prime' it.....
Thanks alot anyways

Mike

What I have found to work well with these is I inject the poly filler with 1 ml of juice before vaping. It would seem as the filler is saturated just enough to avoid overfill and flooding. Since I started doing this I have not burnt any coils. Before useing this method I find that once the coils have burnt and giving that dry burnt taste it never seems to go away no matter what. I have tried cleaning them afterwards too but no success leaving my only choice to toss them in the trash.

Hi dshark, thanks for the reply. Im guessing that my measly couple of drops of liquid wasn't enough then. Lol. Oh well, my first lesson learnt i suppose. Not sure whether i shall be ordering another one tbh, would you say that the besides the convenience of not having to refill quite so often that there are any other benefits between using one of these or just using the standard Ego T setup???

Cheers

Mike

Wow, the OLYMPIAN tanks look nice! I would recommend filling the cartomizer with about 15-20 drops before using in the tank, this will prevent the burnt taste. Let the carto absorb the liquid for a few minutes. Once the carto is burnt, throw it away because the burnt taste in most instances does not go away. Most tanks work on the same principle so look at some you tube videos on filling a tank again, this will make it easier than explaining the process and possibly illustrate a step you missed. Sounds like the issue you have may be with the cartomizer rather than the tank. 510 DCT 3.5ml Tank with 1.5ohm Dual Coil Cartomizer - YouTube

I started on the EGO T setup and although the objective and concept is great, the design (at least for myself) was not ideal. So I opted to try the DCT tank on my EGO and liked it but again not without trial and error. I now use DCT's nearly exclusivly and once in a while use some Boge's or CE2 XL's. I also now have some mods - GLV2's and GLV2 mini that I use my DCT's on and with 1.25 dual coil cartos I have come to really appreciate them.

Cheers again dshark, think i'm gonna take your advice there then......will save me the trial and error. Any chance you could tell me exactly what you use for your day to day vaping?? I just wanna find something that does the job with little messing around and i'm guessing that you've got things pretty much sussed. I'll just take your word for it and buy whatever set-up you suggest.

Cheers man

Not sure if you are considering a GLV or just a mod of one (or more) of the various brands/builders out there. There are many to choose from and I am positive you can get plenty of support here on ECF for whatever you may choose. If you are considering a GLV the current lead times are fairly extensive. I purchased one from a local retailer here in January and in February I ordered one a bit more customized to my liking. I had waited so long for something new that last month I went back to my retailer to get a new GLV2 mini to feed that 'new' appetite. I just rec'd my Feb. order last week.

If you are changing your ohm type cartos the 1.25 dual coils work well at 3.7v and even better on my 5v.
