Omg the stench!

So.. just after a few short days of vaping at work and home.. I went outside to the smoke hut to hang out.. and this was the first time it was in the hut with other smokers (there are 3-5 of us at my work that vape break together). Well... UGH stinkys sure do smell bad.. there were 3 ciggy smokers in there and I had to go outside the hut kuz it stank.

I know when I was a smoker my family used to tell me I reeked i thought they where exaggerating because they wanted me to quit smoking, now I feel bad that I put them through that for so many years

Fresh smoke doesn't smell bad to me. It's the stale smoke that makes me say "eewwww". I can smell it in the elevator when a smoker has recently been in it. And, I always told myself that washing my hands and spritzing a bit of freshner hid it. LOL!!

I was hanging out with friends this past weekend and sitting downwind of a good friend who smokes. It didn't really bother me and I really try not to be one of those ex-smoker types. Couldn't believe how bad my clothes still smelled the next day when I washed them.

I've only been vaping for a few days now and I can barely handle the smell in my car after it sits in a sunny parking lot. I'm going to have to drive with the windows down for at least a week while contemplating what I put my non-smoking passengers through over the years.

Lots of baking soda will help. Just remember to put it into something enclosed before you take off with the windows down.

Also, cleaning the glass seems to help quite a bit.

Glass cleaned? Check. Good tip on the baking soda, I'll give it a try and make sure to seal it up before departure. I'm already a little wary of having to explain my PV to a passing cop. No need to add white powder everywhere to the mix.

I do a lot of road trips with a smoking friend. I used to love the smell of a freshly-lit cig, but not any more. Every time he lights up, I'm grossed out. I don't say anything, of course -- also don't want to be one of *those* ex-smokers.

I also feel retroactive shame about how bad I must have smelled when I smoked.

I was so glad when I quit tobacco cigs, I couldn't wait to clean my car. I detailed it all out and got rid of all the smoke smell. It's so nice now!

Something that works even better than baking soda, is ground coffee.

I completely agree! Cannot believe how bad cigarettes smell. The smell on someone before used to make my mouth water if I hadn't had a cig in a few hours, but now it makes me sick. The one disadvantage to quitting smoking about 2.5 weeks ago is that I work in the medical field as a nursing assistant (have to change depends), getting my sense of smell back isn't entirely a good thing, LOL.

At work they make us go to the back parking lot to smoke where the dumpsters are. A few days after I stopped smoking, I went out back. When I was smoking, I never realized that it smells like dumpster juice out there. Cigs still smell good to me but not when the long necked "ashtray" gets clogged and catches on fire (you all know what I'm talking about). Who invented that anyway?

It's easy to make fun of them now when we used to be the same people being laughed at. What I try to do at work or with friends is join them and encourage them try out Ecigs and guide them with the various (often times confusing) ecig products.

I noticed the day after I quit how bad it was when one of the smokers in my office came in to chat. She brought this stale smokey presence with her. I was amazed I'd never noticed it before.

I've now gone just over two months without a smoke. I've been able to smell a lit cigarette from across a parking lot. No wonder I kept loosing at hide and seek with my 5 year old daughter!

I've quit twice before this both times for two years, both times with pharmaceutical products. Each of those previous times cigarettes constantly smelled good to me. Not this time though. The smoke really bothers me!

When I first started Vaping I spent time and money trying to match that cigarette taste and sensation. I've since moved away from that need and try new juices and set ups for what they are on their own. Not just to see if they can match a cigarette. I now compare vaping products to other Vaping products, not to smokes.

I've started to forget what actual cigarettes are like. So, the other day I asked a friend if I could take a drag off of hers. Man! It was awful! I couldn't take a whole drag because of the taste. Same kind I used to smoke too. I handed it back and actually felt queasy from that one drag.

I think it hits all of us! I was out last night, had a few drinks and even texted a friend of mine that converted.. "said, you think we smelled that bad too!" his reply, "yep"..
