Down from 1 1/2 PAD to 1/2 PAD! Starting to find that the stinkies really do STINK and they taste like crap! My breathing is better when I vape.........noticing how much worse my breathing is I smoke the analogs. My 17-year-old-daughter actually clapped for me yesterday when I told her how much I have cut back (shocker if you knew my "pleasant" mini-me ). Wheezing in chest is getting better. Still feeling the "need" for my stinkies but am now looking forward to my vapes vs. feeling like I "should" vape. I could go on and on. This forum has helped me soooo much and I still have TONS to learn. Looking forward to posting a complete success story in the very near future!

You can do it, Kim! It took me quite a while to switch completely, too. My advice: Just set a last day of smoking for yourself, try to finish a pack on that day and start the next day vaping only. It's still an effort, but I think you'll find it much easier than you expect.
I timed my last day so I still had an unopened pack. I left that in my car, and there it sits - still unwrapped... :)

Another suggestion that helped me, don't smoke a whole cig. Just enough to satisfy the chemical dependency. What I mean by chemical - I smoke Marlboro's. So, when I was withdrawing, I was withdrawing from 200 carcinogenic chemicals per cigarette. They in their, on purpose, to keep you addicted.

The one thing you're really not withdrawing from is the tobacco. And you're definitely not withdrawing from nicotine - as you know, already.(one guy on this site wrote - I still wake up in the middle of the night to smoke an analog, cuz he still has to satisfy the nicotine cravings:?:.....the ONE thing e-cigs have - IS nicotine! That's how much we trick ourselves :p !!

Every one of those chemicals were meant to keep you addicted. They represent 200 companies getting very wealthy off your addiction. It's not the tobacco - not the nicotine even....so, if you can bear in mind that you're just feeding the "monkey on your back", and look at it from that perspective - perhaps that will help.

Smoke just enough of the analog to "feed the monkey", and put it out. Then go about your vaping....when you get to having to smoke the .... - the concentrated crap, that'll REALLY taste disgusting. Have enough of THOSE, and you'll be on your way to full time vaping!

Lastly, there's a very good chance that they will try to outlaw e-cigs soon (you can read about why here - it's nothing to do with health). If that happens, you're back to the gum, patch, whatever - this is the best shot you'll ever have - CARPE DIEM!

P.S. Raise the nic level of your juice too. Go to 34 mg, if you have to, it'll help, as well!:vapor:

Yes, my method of quitting was get a nicotine content so high and vape it so much with such a strong throat hit that it rendered cigarettes too weak in both the nicotine content and power.

And don't ever be discouraged. Things DO get easier. The need for tobacco cigarettes dissipates as you break the habitual cycle tied to cigarettes. You are doing an amazing job and I can't wait to hear your updates :D

Keep on keepin' on! You can totally do it...I was a 20 year, 2 PAD smoker and I'm just five days shy of a month w/o the stinkies. I'm feeling better than I have in years! I can't tell you that I've never thought about an analog in these 25 days, that would be a lie...but it's gotten a little easier day by day. The first week or so for me was the worst...body detoxing from all of the other chemicals, and frankly, I just wanted to feel that paper in my hand. 25 days later, I still have my cravings first thing in the morning, but even those are starting to lessen...actually, got up this morning, made my coffee and poored myself some cereal...then realized I hadn't done such a thing in about 20 years...even when I first started vaping, I'd drink my coffee and vape for about 20 minutes before I even approached the idea of breakfast.

Like I said, it's getting easier by the day. The thought of an analog pops into my head maybe 3-5 times a day, and that's it...it just vape it hard and those cravings soon go away.

Best of luck, Kim, and keep up the good work. I smoked for 30 yrs and nothing else worked for me. Been vaping 100% now for about 1 1/2 yrs. and that's a miracle for me! My main recommendation is find a juice that you absolutely love the flavor of, because that's what helped me alot. If you have a flavor that you think tastes really good, you tend to not really miss having a cig. Then when you later try to smoke a cig, you would rather have your yummy flavor instead. Try vanillas or sweets even, or fruit. If you are vaping just tobaccos, definitely try something that is not a tobacco. At first I thought there was no way I would want something that wasn't a tobacco but most vapers tend to prefer flavors eventually that aren't tobacco.
