I think for me it would be an automatic Kr808 with a slightly modified metal case CE2 filled with some kind of higher VG content caramel/Vanilla toned tobacco like a well steeped VR4/RY4 or Tennessee Cured. The modification would be to just cut the inner silicon cylinder away from the coil to prevent it from singeing and to help it wick.

I think it is important that the process is intuitive and the more similar to the current habit in both looks and practice, the more receptive they will be to the idea. I also think that there is something very satisfying about big vapor production. A good flavored VG juice like the TC coupled with a well wicking CE2 works great for lots of vapor and a very clean taste.

If I hadn't found this forum and discovered that their were a lot of options, my PV experience might have ended with the crappy pre-filled "Marlboro" flavor that produced practically no vapor. I wouldn't want any of my friends to start the same way.

What would you do?

I don't think there is 1 perfect setup that would work for everyone.

I would start by asking the person what they enjoy about smoking first and then set-up a trial for them based on that. If you only have 1 chance than I would have a very flexible setup that uses a 510 or 808 as you can quickly choose the best atty or carto for a sample based on how they answer the first question.

I would also avoid a modded carto as they may not be interested in doing that stuff themselves and if they do decide to convert their next experience will be different which could be a turnoff.

For me , it took a 501 clone "Travel Kit" came with 3 mega 520 batteries , 3 atty's that leaned towards LR . A charger , a couple of empty bottles (for juice) and 5 prefilled cartridges . All in a padded travel case . This came in several color choices . The only thing , I would have changed , Forget the cartridges , and include 5 cartomizers , with an assortment of tobacco , fruit and dessert flavors . But all in all , it convinced me , to stop smoking , and go vape my brains out , instead .

Most of my friends have tried an El cheapo E Cig bought
from a Gas Station and were not impressed and ended
up tossing them. But when they later tried my favorite
PV and juice they all said they wanted one and most
have already purchased one.
I use a Indulgence V2 3.7v with a LR306 Atty and a
Cannon drip tip using 48mg Marlboro juice.
For me this setup is the Bomb!!!

I like the auto 808, prefilled cartos, if someone is totally new and doesn't have any support, needs extremely simple. I tend towards Boge cartos, would prefill with some of my DIY -- vanilla tobacco, tob5 (similar to ry5), car capp -- likely 65PG/35VG. DIY gives control over blend and mg, so it's pretty simple to adjust if they say something isn't right (need more TH, higher or lower nic, whatever).
For a heavier smoker, if they're at least faintly tech oriented, don't sweat the idea of not really a cig lookalike, Riva 510 with Boge 2 ohm cartos.

Wow 48mg?? Dosent that stuff blow your head off? Or do you dilute it a bit?

Personally speaking the 510 mega Titan setup works for me, 3 of everything more then makes sure I have a charged up ecig when I need it. I also really like the flavour from CE2 Clearomizers, I know some people get issues with those, I've personally not had any. Titan fluid 18mg from TW is easily some of the best tasting juice I've tried. Togheter with the above setup it's vaping heaven.

I went the cheap way about a year ago...got the unit at the mall..it was cool at first but battery life was not good at all. I gave up. A friend turned me on to what I currently have (much better E Power starter kit & a ego passthrough for the vehicle). I've tried a bunch of different juices and some I like some not so much.

My issue now is I'm getting a new VV unit and I'm hoping that it will be much better? With the attys on my current device (using both LR and Standard Attys) I get plenty of vape..but the flavors seem to be missing on the attys. With the Cartos I get plenty of vape and flavor. I'm hoping the VV will help with the attys? Who knows...will know as soon as I get it.....

Guilty as charged. I started my e-cig journey two years ago with the mall kiosk variety - pre-filled cartridges, low satisfaction, and terrible battery life. They couldn't fill the need, and I went back to analogs. In some ways, that was a blessing, as when I came back to vaping, and more specifically, found this site, I was amazed to see the advancements over the past two years.

I had a local brick and mortar and visited, armed with a note card of the various models and accessories that ECFers had provided. The manager gave outstanding attention to my smoking habits, and directed me to an eGo-T. What I had missed on my first go-around was met. Expectations of the vapor/TH - check. 8 hour battery - check. Good juice - check.

Many don't like the eGo tank systems, or feel they're good for starting out. Others like their 808s. Others won't touch anything but mods. At this point, it becomes a personal preference, and in that regard, nobody's wrong. If it works, and gets you off the analogs.... to quote Mr. Sheen - WINNER!

Best of luck in choosing a PV, and I wish you well on your journey from analogs!

They should not even make 48mg stuff thats what will ban this stuff all together. I can see why some people need 18mg or 24mg to start with but 48mg is over doing it i think. I started with 11mg and then 6mg and that works fine for me this is my opinion just might want to cut that back a little for health reasons remember nic is not all that good for ya.
Yes Zombitedesade when I'm out and about running
around town 48mg and two or three puffs and I'm
good for an hour or two . Now when sitting around
the house I knock it down to about 35mg or so for
longer Vape sessions .

I've done this a few times (15 or so) with family/friends and batting 100% so far. I don't push it on anyone. If they ask me about vaping I offer to loan them the supplies to try it themselves. I got a couple of 1100 mAh Kgos (ego clones) with extra chargers. Four people can borrow at a time. Cartos are filled with (1) 24mg plain tobacco flavor and (1) 18mg vanilla with 3ml bottles for topping off. When they decide they love it they get an email with a links of what/where to purchase, juice suppliers and links on filling cartos. I'm going to stop loaning mods, especially GLVs. The wait to get one is long And I can't ask for it back until they have a replacement ;) Getting to watch the transformations is an amazing experience. Wish I didn't have to work and could spend my time helping people transition to vaping. That's not going to happen but it is uber-fulfilling!

2 packs a day for over 20 years and anything less
then 36mg and I want to sit and vape non-stop
all day. I'm a dripper and I only drip 2 drop of the
48mg which equals 4.8mg and take 4 puffs and
it ends up a little 1mg per puff . It work for me
now but I am planning on lowering my nicotine
level over the next few months .
Thanks for caring xoYOmamaox.

Pff....

That's like saying they should ban espresso. Ridiculous.
