Yeah, some juices don't hold up well to heat, I've had a few that tasted horrible at lower subohm ranges (>.5), but tasted fine at higher subohm (<.6), or even better at a standard resistance. When I tried GVC, I think I vaped it at around .7 or .8 (can't remember), and it tasted good to me. I have a small bottle of an absinthe/menthol juice right now that's like that, I'm vaping it at .7 and it's pretty good, but if I go down to .5 or .4 it tastes absolutely horrible lol.

Being the vape nut that I am, I'm curious as to why some juices hold up better at low temps and others scorch. My juices taste best--debateably designed--for heat. So I'm wondering what goes into that - obviously the ingredients, but, yeah :) anyone have any ideas about that? I'm a curious cat, especially since I'm toying with the idea of DIY soon.

As far as the science, I have no idea how it works exactly lol. Could just be that some flavorings are better suited to higher temps than others, but I'm not sure. When I was only about 4-5 months into vaping, I tried DIY and had mixed results. Lately I've been thinking about getting back into it again, since I still have a good bit of flavorings sitting around, and some nic that needs to be used.

Ya, I guarantee I'll make some terrible juice especially getting started lol. But it looks fun and the experimentation value is sky high.

Oh I know I did LOL. I'm sure if I get back into it I'll probably make some more too

Luckily there's plenty of resources out there that are quite helpful, so that makes the transition a little easier.

Yeah I think there's a whole DIY section of ECF, and tons of recipes to be found online. I'll probably go by others recipes first to get a feel for it, then venture out into uncharted territory like the Sloth that I am--slow and easy :D and that's where the terrible juice will be most profound.

Go watch Fresh03 videos :) He does a ton of DIY and he has a Reo now :) I think I seen him comment on some of your videos or at least liked them when I was on my subscribers list. He makes it look easy

I've been watching his DIY vids and honestly he's the reason I'm interested in trying it. He makes it look fun and easy :)

He's a really, really cool dude.

Yup - gotta agree. I have 3 ADV's and each has an optimal temp range.

One of them is absinthe and I have to agree that it's better suited to lower temps, although that is a relative term (eg., I like it at .5ohms, but it gets funky for my tastes below that).

The chai I vape consistently is marvellous in a .3ohm build, but muted and flat above that (again, IMHO).

Does Clark do flavour concentrates? My chai vendor does and I'm sooo gonna jump on that.

I takes the exploration fun out of the equation, but it would let you get your DIY gear and process down pat. From there, you could play around with custom concoctions.

Sloth's Custom Concoctions...

Dude. That has a ring to it. Maybe I'll start a company. Market it as the worst ejuice on the planet sure to make you see things hear things and speak like the sloth. Papa, I know you'd be my first customer.

I'm in.

Just name your first masterpiece "Veni Vidi Vapi" (I came, I saw, I vaped). Marketing slogan: Sloth say "Vape the V".

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that absinthe juices don't agree with higher wattage lol. And I need to find a good chai flavor, I've had cobra chai from the steam co. and it was fantastic, but unfortunately the price is kind of steep (for me, anyway), and I don't believe they offer bottles larger than 30ml.

Maybe PM Spydro in here. He's a chai fiend and might be able to hook you up with a US supplier (my guy is local).

You're going to have a hotdog for your logo on your labels, right?

Ya probably, I don't think custards are hard to do just make sure you don't pick one with diactyl because it's frequently used in custards. Soignee's got a DIY of a custard he says is the bomb...he says he's gonna send me a sample some time (I'll try it but like I said not a custard vaper, though it's some good stuff for sure)

edit - GVC is diacytl free, yo ;)

Oh that's good to hear. I've just tried a couple custards, and am loving them! Never tried GVC where are they from? Doesn't say much on the website, but if I register will it tell me something other than we aint got none come back later? Like price etc?

Do you know if CLS is diacetyl free?

Out of curiosity I looked up GVC's description - it says on the website it's best used with silica and subohm microcoils will fry it.

That's...interesting o_O never fried a juice in my life, didn't really know that was a thing?

I would imagine it's like sauces in cooking......heavier more complex sauces (tomato, bbq etc) do well from heat and cooking a long time. Buttery and lighter sauces don't take heat well or cooking very long. Just my guess, but it seems like fruits do better at higher ohms, where tobaccos, brandy's etc do better with more heat/ohms

You're going to have a hotdog for your logo on your labels, right?

hehehe A sloth wearing a hot dog hat!! To think we were here at the birth of a notion!! lol

ETA: and oops........coal.......wahoooo on the big bottles of yumminess!!!

NT's on their game and beyond Deb...no Diactyl in any of their flavorings. Diketones, though (any custard worth a damn will use compounds similar to diacytyl or creaminess won't be good, and NT has a heads up on the relevant product descriptions - whether or not they are harmful, we don't fully know)

Sloth's Slotherly Concoctions will also sell homemade almond milk. Not straight up almond milk mind you--slotherly concoctions, for sure ;) (I made the best almond milk I've ever had last night...it's getting awesome...expect almond milk/juice pairing vids soon)

thanks hun. Oh good.......glad you tried the almond milk. Told ya it was easy! I haven't done it yet, but was astounded when I saw how easy it was. Can't remember if I told ya or not, (or if you saw it) but some folks also dry out the meal that's left and use it in muffins and granola and stuff.

Was it you who put this idea into my noggin? I couldn't remember who it was! THANK YOU! I made my third batch last night and oh. my. goodness. I can't do store bought anymore, it just doesn't carry the flavor like fresh homemade almond milk - whole other game!! Blew my mind! Third batch is a winner - I used maple syrup and goji berries in it. I just whipped up another batch this afternoon - speaking of which it should be cold now, I'm gonna go have some!!!

edit- oh ya the almond meal is a great idea, Chrissy and I are in brainstorming mode :D and I'm about to wholeshare $130 worth of almonds - yup, almond milk for ages :)

I ran across these folks on youtube one day, and that's how I found it. here they are using brazil nuts and cacao nibs and doing chocolate milk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyBE5jVxpVE

Mmm I owe ya one my dear friend, Chrissy'll tell ya all about it...I've gotten nutty with nuts :D today I'm going to make a chocolate almond milk and almond milk with dates. 2 batches! I'll check out that vid and see what those brazil nuts and cacao nibs are all about :D really this is life changing there's something special about the process and the end result is spectacular. You gotta try it, it's even easier than the vids make it look - I do highly recommend a nut milk bag, cheese cloth didn't cut it for me.
