After 30 years of smoking cigarettes, I am now one month without a single cigarette, thanks to vaping. And thanks to all of you who have shared advice and experiences.
In no particular order, here is a list of what I have learned in my first month of vaping. Feel free to add your wisdom as well.
1) Looks aren't everything. It doesn't have to look exactly like a cigarette.
2) When trying new hardware or liquids, never buy a lot of it, no matter how good the "bargain".
3) Never throw anything away.
4) No single supplier ever seems to have everything I want/need at the same time.
5) If the goal is to stay off analogs completely, always have a cheap backup available in case your primary PV fails. Example, keep a few cheap cartos handy in case the tanks misbehave.
6) Some liquids need to "age" for a week or two before they produce full flavor.
7) Never judge any hardware or liquid on the first few puffs.
8) Always clean new atomizers before using. Production methods can leave some *nasty* tasting residue.
9) That new miracle device never works as well as described in a single post.
10) Never buy anything from the kiosk in the mall.
11) There are thousands of types of liquid out there. Some is thin as water and some is thick as molasses. There are also countless variations in PG, VG, nic, flavorings, etc. Certain types of hardware only work well with certain types of liquid.
12) Never tell your wife (or hubby) that vaping is cheaper than smoking if she will eventually see the credit card bill.
13) The box of stuff you no longer use will likely get bigger than the box of stuff that you actually do use.
14) Two or three fully functional PVs will be necessary if partying is involved.
And last but not least...
15) Never watch for the mailman to arrive.
Thanks and have a good day all, JJ
