Hi Guys

So I've been on my vaping journey for 1 month now and haven't touched an analog in that time. It was bloody difficult, though, especially the first week. I craved my stinkies something fierce! The main difference for me is that I don't get the proper, quick satisfaction I was used to when smoking a stinky. I know it is mainly because of all the other addictive stuff in the stinky, not only the nicotine. It is going better now but I still find I need two proper vaping sessions in the morning before I feel satisfied. The first one not long after I get up and another not much later. The rest of the day I can manage as long as I can vape every 2 - 3 hours. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm currently vaping 18mg juice. I find anything less doesn't hit my throat at all and I like a decent throat hit.

The second thing, like a lot of people I started with a Twisp. From all the fantastic information on this forum it looks like there are better options out there. What would the best/most logical upgrade be? I spend a lot of time on the road and I want something that is as easy to use and convenient as the Twisp. To be honest, the only thing that really irritates me about the Twisp is that you always have to keep it upright otherwise it leaks and the battery life isn't great.

BTW, this forum is just the best place ever, it is my second home now and seeing that I'm practically permanently attached to my vape I'll probably spend more even more time here than what I currently do!

Thanks in advance.

First off, congrats on giving up the stinkies. And welcome to the forum. All answered e cig related can be found here. Choosing your vaping equipment is sort of a personal thing. Everyone has different tastes whether it's the method of vaping or the liquid. You may have to experiment. But I am sure there will be people offering their best advice. Good luck to you.

Welcome to the forum and well done on reaching the first month. I had real cravings for about 8 weeks so you're doing very well ! I too started on 18mg and that's where I have stayed - I'm not too concerned about lowering my nicotine at the moment. My first upgrade was to an iTaste VV3 and then an MVP which lasts me a couple of days between charges. I'm very happy with those but the new eleaf istick does look very interesting ............

    Sitting down, facing forward.
Welcome to the world of vaping, cfm78910!

Be prepared for vaping to turn into a hobby or even an obsession. The number one rule is to have backups for backups of your backups. That may seem a little overkill, but remember you thought nothing of carrying a pack of twenty cigarettes, a lighter or a couple packs of matches, and maybe a second pack and lighter. That's twenty backups in one pack! That rule applies to batteries, chargers and atomizers.

When I started all I wanted was something that looked an acted like a cigarette. Anything that looked like a pressure relief valve for a high pressure steam vessel was out of the question. Now, that's basically what I use a lot of the time, but I still use those cig-a-likes as well, nothing beats them for hands free operation and portability.

There are a lot of devices to got to from the Twist style. VV/VW devices like the Innokin VV3 are nice but so are things that are bigger, like a Vamo (low cost) and a plethora of other tube style "mods" that feature variable voltage and variable wattage. Then there's the whole box mod arena with the Istick being the "hot, new" thing available. Power levels are increasing rapidly from the traditional 15 watts to 20, 30, 35, 50, 100 and even 180 watts so if you do go that route you may want to consider a higher power model for its future usability.

Atomizers are yet another broad topic with lots of options. Sticking with an atomizer that has replaceable heads, coils and wicks, is the best way to go. Everyone has their favorites so that becomes your own choice. Then there is the whole rebuildable arena with drip styles and tank styles. They work best on the larger, more powerful, tube and box style devices.

The important thing is that you are off of tobacco!

Welcome to ECF and congrats on quitting. I gotta say I vape alot more than what you're describing. Not sure what a Twisp is, but sounds like an upgrade may be in order. Don't think I could put up with a device that leaked if I din't set it down right. An iTaste vv V3 is a good mod but doesn't last as long as the iTaste MVP. The MVP isn't as big as it seems and I find it very pocketable. A MVP will last a couple days on one charge with heavy vaping. They are both pass through charging so you can vape while they charge. Probably the most recommended tank right now it the Asipire Nautilus Mini.

    First off welcome.

Secondly I, like yourself, have been vaping for about a month. I first started with Blu e-cigs. Because they looks and felt more like the real thing.
I have become obsessed with vaping trying to replicate the hit I would get from analogs. I vape as soon as my eyes are open and most of the day until I fall asleep.

I started cheap with an eGo clone. First nicotine level was 18mg, I am now down to 12mg. Upgraded from there to a KangerTech EVOD. Currently Using a JoyeTech eGo-c Twist with an Aspire Nautilus tank.

All of the tanks I have used from the top coil clearomizers to the EVOD and Nautilus I can turn upside-down without any leaking. The only leaking I have had came from the EVOD tank with the factory installed atomizer. Once I replaced the atomizer with a 1.8 ohm replacement, the vapor production increased and the leaking stopped. It was flooding the coil. The Nautilus has not leaked once. I have flooded the coil a couple of time, because I was not paying attention to the draw I was creating and pulled too hard.

I too am looking to upgrade to a better solution. So far the tank upgrade has been good, now I am saving my pennies for a vv/vw mod. Just not sure which one yet.:?: So many choices so little funding.
