Vape-o-versary? Anivapery? Whatever... Four weeks vaping and four weeks off the killer weed. I smoked my last cig about noon Fri a month ago, got my Volt in the mail that Fri afternoon and haven't looked back since.
I know these kinds of posts are all over ECF but I couldn't stop myself. This has just been an amazing experience. I had my first cigarette when I was 13. The first time I quit was at 17, my entire senior year of high-school I walked around with an unlit cigarette (remember "Baretta"?) and that actually worked for a couple of years. But then, as has happened to so many smokers, one night I'd had a few beers and I thought to moiself, "I haven't had a smoke in almost 3 years, I really think I'll be ok just smoking this one cigarette tonight..." I lit it up, and 40 years later I was still trying to quit. The last 15 years I've smoked anywhere from 1 & 1/2 packs a day to only a 1/2 pack a week. But I could not get rid of them completely. And the last couple of years I'd just given up and resigned myself to being a smoker the rest of my life and I just hoped I could keep it at about 1/2 pack a day, as I had for the last few months.
Then on another discussion forum on a completely different subject matter someone casually mentioned ecigs, I asked her about them, started googling, found ECF, asked for a good starter kit recommendation, Kiwivaper told me about Volts and that was that. I really feel like I've got it beat this time, because vaping isn't just a poor substitute, such as the gums and patches were, it's a whole experience by itself, different enough from smoking to actually be more interesting and fun but similar enough to fill that need. I've had essentially no withdrawl or cravings or psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, etc. vaping just rides over all that like it's nothing, like there's nothing to quitting a 40 year habit that's beat me my entire life. Absolutely remarkable.
The ECF forum is great, the SI board is great, and the people and help here are fantastic. Again, this has just been an amazing experience all around!
