Vape-o-versary? Anivapery? Whatever... Four weeks vaping and four weeks off the killer weed. I smoked my last cig about noon Fri a month ago, got my Volt in the mail that Fri afternoon and haven't looked back since.

I know these kinds of posts are all over ECF but I couldn't stop myself. This has just been an amazing experience. I had my first cigarette when I was 13. The first time I quit was at 17, my entire senior year of high-school I walked around with an unlit cigarette (remember "Baretta"?) and that actually worked for a couple of years. But then, as has happened to so many smokers, one night I'd had a few beers and I thought to moiself, "I haven't had a smoke in almost 3 years, I really think I'll be ok just smoking this one cigarette tonight..." I lit it up, and 40 years later I was still trying to quit. The last 15 years I've smoked anywhere from 1 & 1/2 packs a day to only a 1/2 pack a week. But I could not get rid of them completely. And the last couple of years I'd just given up and resigned myself to being a smoker the rest of my life and I just hoped I could keep it at about 1/2 pack a day, as I had for the last few months.

Then on another discussion forum on a completely different subject matter someone casually mentioned ecigs, I asked her about them, started googling, found ECF, asked for a good starter kit recommendation, Kiwivaper told me about Volts and that was that. I really feel like I've got it beat this time, because vaping isn't just a poor substitute, such as the gums and patches were, it's a whole experience by itself, different enough from smoking to actually be more interesting and fun but similar enough to fill that need. I've had essentially no withdrawl or cravings or psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, etc. vaping just rides over all that like it's nothing, like there's nothing to quitting a 40 year habit that's beat me my entire life. Absolutely remarkable.

The ECF forum is great, the SI board is great, and the people and help here are fantastic. Again, this has just been an amazing experience all around!

HOORAY hcour!

Great accomplishment and Happy Vapeoversary! I still have a little time to go for mine, but looking forward to it. I too started with the Volt Kit and I'm loving it! I also had a 40+ year habit of 1 1/2 PAD, the day I received the kit was the day of my last stinky and now I find I can't even tolerate the smell of them. Unfortunately both my husband and brother (who lives with us) still both smoke analogs so I am surrounded by it constantly! On the upside, both my daughter and my son have turned to vaping...and I am waiting anxiously for vapemail to appear today. We have all been "sharing" the current equipment and juices...and the stockpile is depleting!

Congrats to you , hcour and here's to many, many more wonderful months to come.:toast:

Congrats!!

I am about 9 days from 2 months personally. I didnt plan to quit, it just happened really.

Funny side story.....last Saturday, I was out with my older brother who said that my "smoke" was bothering him. Instead of arguing with him about it, I just didn't vape. I didn't vape first thing in the morning like I usually do and I didn't even use my PV until 1:30p that afternoon. It showed me that I didn't really need to vape either or have the nic.

I know that it can be and has been a struggle for some and I cross my fingers for those out there who are struggling but this has been pretty easy for me.

Congratulations on your success, way to go! :toast: I will admit after reading the first part of your post specifically the "Killer Weed" reference I was about to ask, what the heck were you thinking? But then I realized you meant tobacco, my bad . Down south here "Killer Weed" has a little different definition. Don't get me wrong we only use such things for medical purposes. I love the Vaporversary play on words but I'm thinking Voltoversary would be more fitting on here, either way I like it. :vapor::vapor: WOO HOO!!!

WTG! Every day without lighting up is a day to celebrate!

I smoked for 22+ years and in that time I had tried just about everything under the sun to quit and nothing worked. Just like you, I had gotten to a point where I was becoming comfortable in thinking I would be a slave to smoking for the rest of my life. Then I heard about vaping so I figured what the hell lol. I remember my first month milestone - wow! I couldn't believe I was able to go that long without lighting up! It was the BEST feeling. Now, a year and a half later, here I still sit with my PV close at hand. :vapor:
