Today is my first month since buying a pack and my first month vaping. By Sunday, I will be ciggy free for a month. I smoked one cig for the next three days after I started vaping after being a pack a day for 14 years. 24mg liquid really did the trick the first week, but I had to move down to 18mg when my nose started feeling numb by the end of the day.

It's been a tough month mostly due to equipment problems (leaky tanks). First two clear-o's were pure crap (liquid continually coming through the straw and burned the crap out of my throat) and got replaced before the end of the week. I upgraded my battery from eGo 450mAhs to MVP 2.0. Fixed a leaky Kanger atomizer only to cause a burned taste. Bought a 5-pack of iClear16s because they're not as problematic as the T3S. Bought a cheap RDA (Squid) to get me started on that route (still in the mail). I'm still not totally happy, but for now I have bigger challenges.

I bought a large amount of bottom shelf liquid that of which I only enjoy one flavor, and half I can't stand. It's discount brand stuff. I need to clear out most of what I have now before finding a new brand. But until then, vaping is not as enjoyable as I'd like. This is my number one priority for next month.

I still get cravings, but it's manageable. I ended up getting a lot of flavors in 6mg so I could try to step down my nic levels, but I think it might be too soon. Chain vaping is one thing. Hitting it like a fiend is another.

Dry mouth is killing me, even though I drink soo much water. I'm also coughing in the mornings and it's caused by vaping. How do I know it's from vaping and not from quitting smoking like most people attribute it to? My smoking cough didn't usually taste like raspberry lemonade ;)

I've saved $130 by not smoking. I've spent $212 on liquid and equipment. So I'm down $82 but it's been worth it and I have enough supplies to get me through to the break even date.

In total, I'd rate my vaping experience a 7/10. I'm not enjoying a lot about vaping, but I've gotten off of ciggys and that has great benefits. I'm hopeful things will improve.

You need to practice and experiment with the leaking protanks. I notice when I use a flavor wick it doesn't leak. Also cotton wicks leak less for me. Also I know you down 80+$, but think of vaping as a down payment. Once you have everything its all good and cheaper from there. I would recommend getting liquid from mtbakervapor. Cheap and good liquid.

My personal favorite from mtbakervapor is blue moo, hawk sauce, vanilla butternut, solar flare

You make the flavor wick. I use to use silica, but I moved to cotton. WHen you rebuild the tank, make sure it is screwed in snuggly and the rubber o-ring is there to prevent it from leaking to the battery. Also put a little bit of wick ontop of the coil just resting there. It helps with the leaking. Sometimes my protanks leak, sometimes they dont. I like them. When they do leak, I have to open it and blow the liquid out of the atty chamber, then it works nicely again. I find laying the protank sideways makes it leak also. Warmer weather will also. When my runs low on liquid it tends to leak also. Just little things I noticed.

I always kept pipe cleaners handy for cleaning purposes but I'm sure you could use them for any flooding that you may get. I have no flooding with my PT2's since I started rebuilding the coils and using aero bases.

I love the Aero tank bottom. They should have been doing that from the begining. It's really nice.

Hey Melvin, glad you are staying off the smokes. Yes, I found this whole vaping thing to be a "fiddly" experience at first, too. It takes some time to figure it all out, equipment, which tanks, juice, etc.

I finally got things lined up and felt more comfortable with it. I'm having a good time now, and still not smoking! Good luck to you. It gets better.:)
