....or you can try Vicks vapor rub, that stuff works wonders, but you'll scare away everyone you see and small animals from the potent smell of it. Rub it on your upper chest and throat a bit...and put a dab under your nose.

Best of luck!

Think it was my mom who told me a few years back that the menthol stuff (in Vicks, Ben Gay, and the like) is actually bad for animals/pets. Not sure how true it is but you just reminded me of that.

Archer - true, always good advice to see a doctor about health issues :).

Also when I quit smoking for 9 months (without vaping) I was coughing stuff up for a while afterwards too. Was about a month or two if I remember right.

Just my 2 cents....

Find the right mix and you will be happy with, I think that I drew on a cigarette the same way that I vape. There is difference in juice as in day and night. There are some juices that have a ton of vapor that you see but when you inhale doesnt have much feel to it (heavyiness) Be great if someone lived near you that you could try some different flavors. What are you currently smoking and how many packs a day?

I've also had a hard time finding good flavors. My brother makes his own juice, so when he got a sample pack of cartridges from a new e-cig he bought, he gave them to me, and they were wonderful! It was like the smell of a cigar shop... Only in taste. lol Since then I've gotten 2 other tobacco flavors that weren't even close (one tasted and smelled like burnt popcorn, the other just like weird chemicals). I've had butterscotch, which wasn't too bad. the fruity ones turned out to be horrendous. I guess it's all just trial and error.

I'm definitely going to try the volt and some new juices. I guess I'll just have to remind myself that I'm not trying to replicate smoking. lol. I guess I just wasn't very educated when I started. :)

If you like tobacco flavors, you must try:

Backo from Backwoods Brew
Tampa and Texas from VaporStation

Experts say it takes about 3 weeks to develop a habit. Stick with it and remind yourself that although it doesn't feel like your smoking a cigarette, you are getting what a cigarette provided- nicotine but minus the bad stuff. Plus you won't stink. The smell or the fact that people probably thought I stunk was a huge motivator.

My brother lives just across the street from me, and whenever he does try any new flavors, he normally lets me try. Unfortunately, he makes his own juice most of the time, which is very strong menthol. And he normally adds menthol to whatever other flavors he tries. Yuck! lol

Right now I'm smoking pall mall lights, just under a pack a day.

I think I got the 16mg. I'm thinking that, since I smoke almost a pack a day, I should probably bump it up a little.

Also, I discovered that the juice I've been using is all PG, no VG. The juice my brother makes (which I used during the first week or two of vaping before I got my own) is made with organic VG.

I'm a little excited to give it another shot! :)

Hi Heather,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time with your e-cig. I can't say that I've experienced that myself. I use a 50/50 mix, and smoke my eGo just like a cig. Some times to fall asleep easier I take long deep inhales, and have yet to have a problem.

I suppose it's possible that it could be caused by e-liquid, but I would consider going to the doctors.

I wish you the best of luck in finding the right hardware and liquid.

Thanks, liscombc :) I haven't used my e-cig for several months. Quit when I started hacking my lungs out every time I took a drag. My chest felt better as soon as I quit. Honestly, though, I think it was just bad juice.

When I get paid, I'm going to order a new cig (just because I want a different style) and some new juices. I'm confident that, now that I'm more educated, I'll have greater success. :)
