OK, after much trial and error (and 3 ruined clearomizers) and much reading and helpful suggestions here on ECF this is my plan of attack...
1: Test each new clearomizer put into use by filling, but not overfilling, it with Vodka from a syringe. Placing it on a papertowel to see if it leaks. If not, roll into service.
2: For cleaning used clearomizers in prep for changing flavors fill, about half way, with Vodka from a syringe, replace mouthpiece, shake well, place on papertowel to check for leaks. No leaks, reuse; leak, pitch...
3: Filling Syringes -- fill only with syringe! This is to avoid getting any liquid in center column. Don't know about you, but my nerves just aren't good enough any more to remain steady enough to 'always' avoid hitting that center column or overflowing the liquid as it's being filled. Not overfilling the tank, just that the liquid, being somewhat thick, doesn't flow right down the side of the tank and will build up and flow 'over' the center column. Using a syringe avoids that problem.
Your mileage may vary (in fact I'm sure it will) but this is what I'm going to be trying to see if that solves my leak problems...
