While vaping on a Riva and carto combo the battery continued to heat the carto even without the button pressed. The light was not on but it wouldn't stop. By the time I unscrewed the battery it was a goner. The switch seems melted inside the battery. Oh well, try something else I guess.

On a positive note I am really enjoying the 510 XL auto-battery that I bought originally. It is better with carts in my opinion than the Riva.

Please keep us posted on how the Ego compares. I've been having rotten luck with the Riva's.
I had two die on the same day, luckily day 13 of the 14 day guarantee so i got them replaced.
I just purchased an individual SLB Riva 901. The first one arrived dead, returned it, the replacement died in a day and I just sent it back to be replaced. I like the size of the Riva, but terrible quality in my humble opinion.
I'm thinking of going with an ego and just use an adapter so I can stay with my KR808 cartomizers.

jj - a word of warning if you are going to be using an adapter. I have a "XPOWER 900 " which i find to be superb. It is an ego clone. Anyways ....it has a 301 attomiser and i bought a 301 to 510 adapter to give me access to all the 510 goodies. Worked fine. Then when the battery ran out as it normally does after a day and a half i went to charge it and........nothing. The charger just went green light. Same thing happened to my next battery too. My wife has the same kit as me and her first battery went the same way. We thought they were dead.
I posted my problem on an English forum that i also use and hey presto a guy advised me that i may have tightened the adapter down too tightly and moved the small disc, with the hole in the middle, down in to the battery to far for it to touch the charger connection when i tried to recharge it. I used a small piece of wire to pull that disc up a little (talking about 1 or 2mm). Connected to the charger and YESSSSS the red light came on the battery blinked 3 times and began to recharge.

So anyone out there reading this that thinks their battery may be dead. Think about it. You may have screwed your atty on so tight that it moved the disc with hole in. Or screwed your adapter on so tight that it did the same.

I am no expert on this. This is just what happened to me. It could happen to you too. I have 4 batteries working again that i thought i'd killed.

I ordered two more batts. And two Ego kits before i fixed my batteries. So it looks like i'm gonna have plenty of spares....lol

I've heard bad things about Riva's. Some DOA's, some dead in a month stories. I have ego's and ego passthroughs and they last. I did kill two ego batts after about 4 months of heavy vaping. I think it depends on usage. Somebody has a dual battery ego kit for $24.99 with 5 carts. Check Grimm Green's FB wall. Good lucK!

If you want to take it apart use a 3/8" brass coupling like you use for a compressed air hose. It will mess up the threads a little but it is dead anyway.

Just screw it onto the cone threads and firmly and carefully work it back and forth until it comes apart. Don't pull it off or you will pull the wire off of the circuit board. They are tricky to get back together but I have fixed several riva and ego circuits and got them back together.
