I knew from the first kit order I made that there was little chance of running into anything I didn't like. Now, 23 straight flavors later with a blend potential numbering in the thousands (holy hell...LOL), that continues to be the case. That's the reason I'm not too worried about sampling smaller sizes...oh...and the great freakin prices. Ya....that helps...LOL. Plus, being the neighborhood 'chemist', if I did have a flavor I didn't like there's bound to be someone who will.

I haven't done the" food and dessert" flavors yet. The premades that I have tried from friends just seem very light on flavor for me or the DIYs my friend makes have enough butter in them to warrant it's own cart and carrying case..lol. someday maybe. For now...it's menthol cherry (or Robitussin as most call it) for me.

Speaking of flavors....I have a problem. I had made a ton of different bottles up roughly 3 and 5 weeks ago (2 seperate batches) to try all the new flavors I bought. Tonight I decided to go back to one of these. It tasted like I vaped floor cleaner (used to be black cherry). Picked up another bottle, same thing (used to be Blueberry). Got another, opened up a new atomizer, industrial floor cleaner (used to be apple). Decided to get away from the fruits and tried cinnamon red hot...holy hell it's some kind of sweet drain cleaner. Had my friend try the cherry to make sure it wasn't me. He thought I was trying to kill him....or keep him from bumming juice from me...LOL. 22 bottles later and all I have are putrid, throat burning, sinus killers. All are 18mg nicotine at a 70/30 PG/VG ratio using Perfumers Apprentice Professional Flavors and the 48mg nicotine base. I tried "fixing" the cherry, blueberry, apple, cinnamon red hots, raspberry, bubble gum, and cranberry by adding some flavoring or VG or PG or a combination of those. Tried adding sweetener. No good. Lost 1/2 my dinner on the cinnamon (eh...TMI, I know).

All bottles have been double canvas bagged and stored around 67 degrees and padlocked.

Ever hear of anything like this happening? I'm about to flush 200ml of juice.

I just broke out the mixing gear and whipped up a 10ml bottle of Black Cherry using the same formula. It's ok but has a hint of "bad" in there. I'm hoping it's just residuals on the atomizer.

Hey Jonny,

It's hard for me to say, not having tasted the flavored liquids. It sounds like there may have been too much flavoring to start with, and as the flavors cured in the juice, its coming through stronger than it did initially.

Can you post some of the recipes that you made, with % of flavoring used?

Cleaning out your atomizer would also be a good call. If you aren't already, make sure that cinnamon flavor is only being used in one atomizer, unless you just love cinnamon and don't mind tasting it in your other mixtures. It will linger forever.

I use the calculator off your site. I left the flavorings at the default 20% to start with nicotine all at 18mg and a PG/VG @ 70/30 using the 48mg nicotine base. Anything that came out light, like Black Cherry, Bubble Gum, Apple, (only a few) I added flavoring accordingly or added PG/VG to anything heavy. I did try to add some PG and or VG to these to try to calm them down but it's only taking away the flavor while leaving a very heavy perfumy aromatic taste. My friend says it literally tastes like he vaped perfume. The wife...just ran away.

When I first ordered my DIY kit I researched the crap out of it both here on ECF and your site (which is awesome BTW) so I already knew about juices aging and left the flavors on the light (for my taste anyway) side. I also have made tons of juice for friends, family and neighbors, but in single bottles at a time, and so far they've not brought any complaints.

I typically use cartomizers but for testing I use an atomizer @ 2.5ohm and 3.7v. I use an ultrasonic cleaner with plain water and shop compressor for cleaning. I did break out a few new cartomizers for testing some of these flavors as well as ones that have been cleaned. The cartomizers are around 3.1ohm +-.1 with one low resistance at 1.8ohm all on 3.7v.

And yes, cinnamon, love it...LOL
And Menthol
And Cherry
And and and....LOL

Try mixing up a black cherry at 5% flavoring, and let me know how that turns out. Personally, I couldn't vape black cherry at 20% of my mixes. Also, you may want to add a sweetener to it. I like adding Ethyl Maltol drops to it, or the PA Sweetener. By itself, black cherry is a fairly bitter flavoring, and can easily become overwhelming in mixes. I found that it also goes well with a stronger base flavoring, like cappuccino.

I would try those flavors in the 3-5% range to start, be sure to give it at least a day to sit and cure together before you alter the recipe. I always start small, and work my way up. You can always add a drop or two later to bump up the flavoring in the next day or two if it doesn't hit the mark that you're looking for.

Broke out the kit and now have another bottle setting. Will report on that later.

The odd thing is that the flavors that I already had made (which were awesome for at least the first few days after making them) couldn't be brought back even with up to 70% dilution. Still has that "perfume" like essence which is very...I dunno...makes us gag, for lack of better words. After heavy dilution flavor is essentially gone except for the essence of it...if that makes any sense. Hard to explain. I'm imagining taking fruity perfume and spraying it in my mouth.

On further note, the bottles I'm using are 10ml medical grade (I used to work for Johnson & Johnson Ortho Clinical Diagnostics and sourced the same type we used) natural LDPE plastic dropper bottles with a few crystal clear ones that I reused from your nicotine base as well as a few 6ml bottles I reused from your flavorings. All have the same results so I'll say it's safe to say it's not the container. I dunno, the only other thing I can think of is the flavorings permeating through the bottles and little zip-loc baggies I have these stored in. The bag (laptop case) I keep all this stuff in is currently very perfumy despite having all caps tight and all flavorings in zip-loc baggies. There is no evidence of leakage.

Back to banging my head against the wall...

Vaping that bottle of Black Cherry I made over the weekend. Just not tasting much. Maybe I burned my taste buds out. Gonna try to get together a "desserts" type flavor order in soon and change things up a bit for a while. The only thing I have of that type from you is Graham Cracker and my hand has already been slapped for touching it (even though I bought it!). Feel free to throw me some suggestions. Tried an "Upside Down Cake" last week. Seemed ok. Had a pineapple-ish cakey taste to it. Maybe something cake-like. I'm not too picky when it comes to food and flavors so I'll try just about anything (that doesn't resemble RY4...LOL).

One thing I do when I am testing out new mixes is cleanse my taste buds between. I eat a saltine (low salt for me) cracker, some sorbet or even a plain crusty bread. Helps a ton in changing flavors!

Another thing to try, for what is coming perfumey to you is leave the bottle open for a few hours. what your smelling is the small molecules in the flavor. The large ones are what you want to taste. Let me know if this helps :)

Makes sense, I'll try leaving the bottles open. Somewhere where a 3 year old can't get to them. Oh....on top of the fridge where we "hide" all his candy...LOL. I use Oyster Crackers and drink/flush water. Works great.

Any suggestions on making something cake-like? My B-Day is Friday so my "wish list" is a flavorings order...LOL

LOL...I'm 5'8" and need a chair to see what's on top of this beast. Earlier in the year I took advantage of NYs rebate program for Energy Star appliances and got myself something nice...er....I mean...got the wife something nice. A 28cu.ft. Samsung side by side in black. Every so often I have to get up there to clean out the lost and forgotten stale stuff...lol
