For me vaping takes less time than smoking did as I was using hand rolling tobacco, it's much less time consuming to fill a carto or tank than it was to sit here rolling enough ciggys to last till I got back home again.

I might be in Buford on Monday. Yeah, small world. I see a lot of people from GA here. But since I've lived in multiple parts of the country, I see a ton of people from areas I've lived and worked.
that goes for anything/everything I get into, from cars, electronics, firearms, motorcycles, vaping, pretty much anything I end up getting into it and going full into it and I have toooooo many hobbies like this LOL
One of the things I disliked about smoking cigarettes, is how much time IT occupied!
From either shopping for juices and deals, to not being able to put the damn thing down. It's become a hobby I never wanted. But at least I'm not smoking....and one day I will find the perfect set up and I can end my search.
Yep, same here.. all i do is browse on my phone, @ work on the desktop just looking around ECF, vaporjoes, deals and steals, etc.. lots of researching and learning and i can't stop looking up stuff that's vape related!! i'm so hooked!

In the old days, you were told to get a hobby to keep your hands and mind busy so you didn't think about smoking so much. I do enjoy this a bit better than knitting even though I still do that as well.
I spent a lot more time stuffing cigarettes than I do filling up a couple tanks. I have found the best delivery system on the market- I believe; have plenty of tanks, coils, batteries and a couple dozen flavors to choose from. Now that the large initial purchases have been made, I think I'm set for a while. The delivery system I use has virtually no learning curve, requires little maintenance and is reliable. It's all about getting the right gear.

A ton of the problem I find is all of the trail and error and finding what you like. It seems our tastes and expectations vary so much some of the advice that is not mechanical only goes so far. When you have an idea of what you want it can take forever to find it.
I am not an idiot but... "what you like" can be vary on different day. I'll tell you this. Several days ago I told myself that why did I even care and spend so many days to make my ss rope wick to work right on my genesis type tank, while the protank is so "right" for me. It feels much more "cigarette" then the genesis type tank. Today, I took the protank with me the whole day. For almost the whole day, I was anxious to get home to vape on my RSST and blow some huge clouds.
I've needed a new hobby, so I'm glad this is becoming it. The only thing I ever spent money on (when I was actually earning good) was my computer and cooking. If I was rich I'd probably be spending it on cars too. Basically since I don't really spend disposable income on anything other than new stuff for the kitchen or a computer upgrade every few years, this works.
Next time I go visit my Mom in NY, I wanna see how easy it'll be to do a custom 'sleeve' for the whole system. Maybe make it look like a Sonic Screwdriver. At the very least get some very nice pinstriping done on my batteries.

You can get down to a nic level that allows you to work all day, then have a lovely vape when you get home. I started at 35, got down to zero, but something was missing. Some flavor added by the nic. Now I use a 6-8 mg level and I go all day with no desire or withdrawal type feelings. When I get home the low level is nice and I relax and vape to my heart's content.
I will say that the cost is not much cheaper than analog, but I feel better about it.

Smoking was never a hobby for me during the 35 years I smoked. I tried different things but I never bought a humidor, rolled my own or grew tobacco in the backyard. It was a pastime to be sure, but not a hobby.
I already have hobbies that demand time and resources. Vaping never became a hobby for me. I like things simple and relatively unfussy with vaping. A carto and cart tank and a good VV/VW rig is all I need. I DIY the e-liquid but that's more for improved quality control and economy than anything else. A PV collection doesn't appeal to me and neither do RBAs.
