Hi, I'm Steph.
I'm a new vaper, and I just wanted to introduce myself and share some observations on this new passion.
My cousin started it by buying a Blu. I was hooked on the idea from the first time I was introduced. I'd smoked for 15 years, give or take, and was looking for an exit strategy. My guy and I smoked roll-yer-owns for many years to save money; however, Pennsylvania has been slowly (actually, rather suddenly) taxing the CRAP out of even roll-your-own tobacco. Looking at another hike soon to come, the cigarettes had to go. So when my cousin showed up waving his Blu around, I knew it had to be a better option.
My guy (Rich) charged me with researching e-cigs and finding out whether Blu was the best model. As I'm sure others have done, I tried comparing products but the choices are dizzying. If it wasn't for ECF, I probably would have ended up with a Blu or Greensmoke. Thankfully I was able to read so much great stuff about V4L that I felt good about starting with them.
We took advantage of the Valentine sale to stock up on carts when buying our kits. The packages arrived on Thursday, and I haven't looked back.
Rich smoked up to three packs a day. He fully planned to keep smoking a bit longer while getting used to the vape. HE HASN'T SMOKED AT ALL. Nor have I, for that matter. This is some sort of miracle. As the last vestiges of the coffin nails disappear, I wonder how I ever put up with them so long.
I cleaned out all the ashtrays today. They are shiny and gleamy on the coffee table (for smoker friends). Such a weird sight. I never realized how much CRUD was a part of my daily life! The car is next....
I think it's important to go into vaping KNOWING that it's not "just like" smoking, it's a little different. I also went into it knowing that this was going to REPLACE the cigarettes, not augment them. Realistic expectations are a must for the beginner.
I think we're waiting for the one-week mark to make our next order. We've found a few winner and loser flavors to be aware of, and after using the manual PT, I think we might need some manual batts as well. I'm beginning to feel the first pains of defensive order planning!
Thanks everyone for being here, and creating such a huge trove of information and opinion for others to draw on. You are all doing a great job of helping bring people into the fold, so to speak! Keep up the good work!

Take care all,
Steph
