Love the Protank II Mini. The single coils are definitely simple to rebuild and even simpler to rewick to cotton. If you plan on doing that, anyway. Mine hasn't leaked at all, can handle 100% VG just fine on an eGo style battery, and isn't too big to tip it over when I set it down upright.

Like it so much I have another on the way. Come on Vapemail!

I am guilty of this, as well. I started with the Kanger EVOD, which was mentioned earlier. I didn't want to invest too much, in case it didn't end up working well with regard to keeping me off of cigarettes. After about a week and a half, I upgraded to the Aspire nautilus Mini, with the CF VV battery, I think it is called their Premium Starter Kit, which you can find for $60 or less. I still have my EVOD and use it while the Aspire is charging, or while driving. In the car was where I probably smoked half of my cigarettes. I have been very pleased with the Aspire kit. The battery will not last too much longer as yours, as it is 1000 mah, and the tank capacity is lower at 2mL, but the airflow and taste were a lot better than the EVOD.

The Aspire kit is something on my radar too. Thanks for the heads up :)

Rebuilding is something I havent as yet considered. May be a few months in, and once I sort of settle down and realise that I will be vaping consistently, I would probably look at learning how to go about with that.

btw, I did hear a lot of stories about Protank IIs being leaky horrors. Any fact to that?

Skip the Evod, and grab a Protank 2 Mini if you can find one. I started with the Evods, and the Protank was a world of difference in flavor and vapor. The full Protank 2 is even better, but its a little too big and use to knock my Evod batteries over.. I always used the 1.8 coils, even when I rebuilt em.

I'd stay away from the Protank 3s, and the Aero's. They're all dual coil attys. They'll use a lot more juice and an eGo sized battery just doesn't really have the power those tanks need..

I had really good experience with my Aspire CE5-S BDC and now they have BVC which is even better. They work very well and are inexpensive.

Aspire CE5-S BDC & BVC Clearomizer - $3.95 - WORLDofVAPE

Aspire ET-S BVC Glassomizer - $6.45 - WORLDofVAPE

Aspire K1 Glassomizer - $8.45 - WORLDofVAPE

Very good performance, easy to use and care for, and won't kill your wallet. I have moved up since then but I still use my aspire occasionally and it doesn't disappoint.

Thank you, Monotremata. I wasn't aware that the dual coils used up a lot more juice. It is a factor I do have to consider, since in India I am restrained by a limited and extremely overpriced assortment of juices to pick from. In fact, one of the reasons for this post was the fact that I felt a lot of juice was being wasted by wicking the Kanger T2 with its long flowing quadruple wicks. Thanks for the insight.

Great set of links, Thank you, Sun Valley :)

My PT2s did leak when getting empty...but that was solved by getting a airflow control base ($3-$5). These come in 3 versions and I have V1 and V3, Both work fine (I guess I prefer V3). These really made the PT2 a whole different animal.

As for the PT2 mini...I have almost zero problems with leaks.

Once you start rebuilding these, they get even better.

The PT3 mini is also an option as you can use the single coil PT2 heads in it for now, and when you're ready to tackle rebuilding, get the dual coil heads but rebuild as single coils. (Get the ones with the silicone caps similar to the single coil ones.) I have both and find the dual coil heads easier to rebuild. They're a bit deeper so there's more room and less chance of shorting from contact with the chimney. Just a suggestion.

Aspire naterlis and get a infinite stingray x mod. I've try use $20 setup wasn't that good than $40 setup still same. (Smoked since 16 so it was 26 years) nautilus with panzer mod was good for me to stop smoking( was a gift from a good friend that got me into vape:) ) so I'm thinking if u want to buy cheap mod after one and other u can use same $ to buy a good mod infinite stingray x clone was really good quality clone( I got authentic and clone) hard to tell deference runs u about $37-50 nautilus is about $30-$35 + battery and charger will be bit over $100. Taste and power is really good on that. But that was my case.

Remember she doesn't wanna use juice like a freakin freight train lol but I agree the Aspire Atlantis is freakin awesome but it uses a ....load of juice and she would be stepping into a sub ohm world that requires knowledge, and being safe about it as well as money to go with it. If you wanna take the time and can deal with all that I can help you get setup to do that but your choice. Hope that helps!

Started with a nautilus myself, b&m shop threw in a bvc as the replacement. Thought that was a lot better than the old style clearomizers. Stepped up to a lemo to try my hand at RTAs, thought that was much better aside from having to pick up a mech to fire it. Now can hardly get the same satisfaction going back to either the nautilus or lemo after using my silverplay. Massive air flow. Wicking has been a pita but that's probably from my lack of experience thus far

You can get a Vision Spinner 1 1300mah for $20; I think you'll need more than one battery. ..why not get a variable voltage battery? Add an Evod 2 tank for $7; it takes the Kanger single coils, or the Kanger dual coils. You can buy a 5 pack of single coils for $5, or 5 pack Enclosed dual coils for $8 at Sweet-Vapes.com. My husband loves this set-up. You can also use that tank on the battery you own.

If you don't mind spending more money get the Vision Spinner 2 1600mah Battery, and a Mini Aerotank; that's about $55 total, but the battery lasts longer.
The iStick is also a great bargain, and good for beginners. I'm waiting on the 50 watt iStick, but the 20 or 30 watt i Stick kit pairs well with any 510 threaded tank.

I have found that the 30 watt Istick is an excellent on the go mod! Mine stays in my carry case and since I have a car charger in my car anyway I never have to worry about running out of power. It also comes with a ego adapter so you can use both 510 and ego threaded tanks. Thinking about getting me another one so I can have one for both...

I don't know how they would hold up to constant usage though,, but I have heard good things from people who use them all the time.
