So, it's been a week since I had my last analog, so far I haven't noticed any difference in the way I feel. No improvement in my sense of smell, taste, or anything that I can see that's obivous anyway. Maybe it takes a little longer?

That's hard to believe, I've been on this forum for over a year and only have 217 posts. There's something fishy here.

Was up?

EDIT: Please disregard this comment. oplholik, please accept my apologies, I misread the first line, D'oh!. I guess I should have went to bed sooner.

Depends though-

How did you feel before? How long did you smoke?

In my 20s, I really felt no ill effects from smoking. If I'd switched to vaping then, which I couldn't, cause it hadn't been invented yet, I'd have probably said I didn't feel any different.

Depends on how much damage the cigs have done, how long it takes you to feel better...

oplholik, Took me awhile as well. I believe that you need to give your body time to release or purge all of the toxins you were taking in all of those years. Flavors that I started vaping with, like menthols and some fruity flavors became too intense for me...esp my old all day vape "Atomic Cinnecide" from TV...I had to buy all new mellow flavors and it opened me up to alot of the dessert flavors, completely changed my taste palate.

It takes a long time. Think of have long you'd been smoking. All those years of damage. I do think vaping suppresses the resurrection of your taste buds, to a degree anyway. About the only thing I noticed quickly was a little wheezing sound I sometimes heard when I went to bed stopped rather quickly. That was a good thing - the sound had started scaring me a little. The other improvements took more time.

If your experience is like mine, friends and acquaintances will start mentioning improvements before you even notice them.

I haven't noticed a difference in my sense of taste yet. That could be because I eat a lot of spicey foods too though. I think that desinsitizes you (jalapenos are my friend). I've been vaping and off smokes for just over a month (since Apr 8). This is what I have noticed so far:

1. I can smell better. Of course the being able to smell is a double edged sword. The smell of a burning cig about knocks me over. ( I feel guilty for every cig I ever smoked near a non smoker now). That said I will not give smokers a hard time because I have been where they are.

2. Within my 1st week off the smokes my boss and my ex both commented that my voice sounded clearer and wasn't raspy.

3. My skin is clearer and my upper lip had gotten dark (not a good thing when you're female) my lip is lightening and is almost back to normal now (yea! I don't look like I have a mustache anymore!!)

4. I can breathe better. I never coughed anything up I did have some post nasal drainage though (yuck) but I can sing along with songs without passing out or having to stop for breath.

i think everyone is different. i felt a difference right away. it took longer for my husband. we're at 5 weeks cig free now. i figure after 30 years of smoking, it's gonna take some time to bounce back.

i don't cough all the time like i used to. i don't wheeze when i lay down to sleep now. i breathe better in general.

also, my wallet feels a bit heavier now. ;)

hang in there! the only way to go is up!!!
