I have a new side-effect of giving up the coffin nails. This evening we had to drive out to Lowes, so we're sitting there in traffic, listening to the radio, and Stairway to Heaven comes on, which in this family is the DJ's way of telling us to turn it up. At the end, when Plant is basically screeching... 25 yrs ago I lost the ability to hit those high notes without my voice cracking and just refusing to go there... BUT NOW I CAN HIT THEM AGAIN!!!



Being able to sing along with Stairway to Heaven... PRICELESS!!!

Absolutely! I had been just idly singing along with the beginning part, when he's singing in a regular, low voice... then he gets to "And as we wind on down the road..." AND I COULD HIT THE NOTES RIGHT ALONG WITH HIM! I even managed the *really* high "to be a rock... and not to roll"! I was flabbergasted! No crack, no screech, no dead silence, just singing, in a FAR higher voice than I've been able to manage for at least 25 yrs. It's kinda weird because I can still hit the low notes that smoking gave me, the "whiskey tenor" voice, but now I can hit the high ones too, as I haven't been able to since I was 25 yrs old. I gave my sigelei a big ol kiss and told it how much I loved it! E-cigs have not only saved my life, they've given me back my singing voice!

Heh... I still can't hit those, but then, I never could *before* I started smoking either -- not without falsetto, anyway. I'm that very unusual woman whose natural voice is so low that I actually have an obviously-falsetto voice, which my son, classically trained singer, assures me is impossible... so I sang a bit of falsetto for him, and he was bumfuzzled; his teacher told him women don't have that voice -- but I think we do, it's just that most women sing high enough, they don't need it, so they never try it.

Well on the 4th is my Birthday and the 14th will be 6 months analog free! Yay Me. My senses were fully back about a month after quitting. I always said I would not be the ex-smoker who hates the smell of cigarettes but man this guy at my work it's just horrible! I hate even going in his office. It's like I just smoked one with him. LOL! (Joke between co-workers that don't smoke) Yeah it stinks. Buy the hubby is back on his cigars went to Vegas and it triggered him to smoke them again. At least he gets the good ones now from Thompsons. (He quit when I quit analogs) I was so worried that Vegas would make me go back. And almost the first night because one of my tanks was to tight. Plus some of juice spilled while on the plane I guess. I just left the juice in my tanks. Won't do that the next time I fly. LOL. Before we left I emptied them out except my favorite and that even leaked in my purse on the way home. I guess juice does not like to fly! What does not make any sense to me is when I knew I was going to Vegas I used google and yelp to find the shops out there and I only found two close to downtown Vegas. We really didn't do the strip this time. But I did see a lot of people at the slots with ego's vaping away it was a great sign!

Thank you for posting this! My wife an I will be going to Vegas in about a month and I'm more than a little worried too. My wife and I just started this 4 days ago. I went from a pack on Friday, 6 analogs on Saturday, 4 Sunday, 3 yesterday, and none so far today. My wife is starting from almost two packs though so she's still hitting it one the normal peaks (morning, after meal, etc). I'm hoping that by the time we go up to Vegas, it won't be an issue at all...
