Getting started in DIY is a bit overwhelming with so many flavorings to choose from. I spent hours trolling page after page of websites, picking flavors I thought might be good then finding something else. I was vaping for 2 years before I got into DIY so I knew what flavors I didn't like in a juice or blended into juices and that was a lot of flavors. Don't go hog-wild and buy more than you need to start but I would be sure a quart of 100nic, PG and VG in my first order with a few "sound good to me" flavors and don't try to clone a vendor juice with your first mixing sessions....your only going to disappoint yourself. Making standalone flavors to understand what to expect in a finished product. I still with 2 years of DIY under my belt now haven't bothered to clone any juices, enjoy stand alone flavors that I use tobaccos as bases so they are 2 ingredient mixes and I'm much happier than the dude who chose the rocket science route with DIY and nothing but letdowns, wasted juice and money down the drain.
Once you do take a vape of a juice you made you'll be hooked and never look back, just like coil building...there is nothing like it.

I vaped a few years ago so I pretty much know what juices I liked back then. I'm just getting back into it. I'm still trying out some stuff probably always will. I like to experiment a bit.
The biggest reason I want to mix by weight is I don't see well enough to see markings on syringes. I'm diabetic so trust me I know I have a hard time seeing them. Luckily I use an insulin pump lol. No reason to go but all that stuff to go find out I can't use it or it's a major pita to see.

Let me suggest these wide mouth bottles to mix in and then fill your tanks also. (link below) They come in 15, 30 60 ml with a luer cap and the blunt needle screws on and off. I prefer wide mouth bottles because its easier to get the ingredients in the bottle and the blunt needle helps to refill my tanks. They have clear stoppers to use to close the bottle so no additional air gets in. Glass is ok to store flavors and nic in, but when it comes to filling tanks, I think this is much easier.
Have you prepared a list of things you may still need to purchase? If not, let us know and we can help the best we can.

A jeweler's headset. 10X works for me.

My sense of taste was rather slow and it was not a smooth return.

I DIY now and I make enough recipes that I don't get to them for 6-8 weeks. Test samples, too. It seems slow, but I get better results, I think. I think I make a total of 50-70ml a week. Some times I make 90-100ml if test samples are heavy.

By all means, only choose a system to work with that meets your individual needs. There's an excellent thread on mixing my weight in the DIY liquid section if you need for reference. And BTW, if I found Halo in a flavor I liked on clearance for $5, I'd probably grab it too.:)

I always thought those needle nose bottles were best for those bottom fill tanks with the narrow fill port. Can you get a decent enough flow through such a small needle? I use plastic unicorn bottles with the plastic tips as I thought a narrow blunt needle like that would be frustrating for a 70 VG juice, which is why I have a few in the bottom of the drawer but never played with them.

I use 100% vg and the little trick I learned was to get it warm
( hot water, heat vent) and it pours out nicely into bottles etc..

The bottles I use aren't the needle nose ones that I think you mean. These luer caps and needles are made by Jensen Global and the ones I use for the 30 and 60 ml bottles are the ones I linked in my post above that onestopdiy sells. They have a larger sized opening than the needle nose bottles and the neck size is 20-410.
I use a 14 gauge 1 inch needle. The luer part that screws onto the cap are all the same, and of course they match the syringes that have the luer end on it. 14 gauge is great for vg ejuices and I usually use around 50/50 to 30/70 pg/vg. Depends on the flavor I am mixing/vaping. Also, the needle fits in all the top filled tanks I have including the Melo's with the side port. And it fits the kayfun clone bases I have from FT. It only takes a few seconds for me to fill my tank.

When I started vaping I got no flavor, there was vapor but no taste. The good part was the 18 mg nicotine got me off the pipe I was smoking, after using the vape I didn't feel like using the pipe. I got into coil making to get some flavor but the real trick was the DIY. I spent about $60 for PG, VG, nicotine and flavors. You can spend about 25 for PG, VG and nicotine and get a few flavors for a little extra.

Right now I am using a Russian 91 bottom fill but I have pretty much mastered how to top fill it without it leaking or gurgling. I'm waiting for a couple more kayfuns to show up in the mail but usps is being a pain.
I haven't made a list per se but I know what I need pretty much. I just don't know which flavorings I need as I haven't pinned down which recipes I want to use yet. I'll get to that. I'm not in any hurry atm.

I'll have to give them a try. Beats ordering a bunch more unicorns when I have several of those needle nose bottles sitting empty. If they don't work well no real loss.
Are these the type you are talking about?
Needle Tip Bottle

Seeing how they come with already attached needles to the cap and are 21 gauge these are a big PITA to use and are not the same as I was talking about. The needles are way too small and can only handle pg.
If you are really interested in the way I do mine, pm me. I can send you a couple of 14 guage needles.

Ah, those are the useless bottles. I have 14G blunt needles I use on syringes. How do you get them on bottles?

Via these type of luer caps.
Colored Luer Lock Cap

That go with these bottles
Boston Round Bottle with Luer Lock Cap

These are the luer stopper caps that are what is used when the needle is removed(to seal the cap and bottle when not in use)
5 Pack Luer Lock Syringe Caps

The neck size of the bottles and caps are 20-410 and have a much wider opening than those needle nose ones.

Oh, cool! Thank you! Perfect for my next OSDIY order. Way easier than my regular unicorn bottles. I don't know how I got stuck with those other tiny needle bottles.

You are welcome.
When I first started DIY back in 2010, I hated those smaller openings on the bottles that were available. So I went in search of anything better. I found and still use an electronics supplier of these products. Back then everything was so new(vaping industry) we were all in search of better ways to do things and this is what I found for me. It has since caught on a little. At least now some vendors are starting to sell these types of systems. I am glad too cause I don't always want a large order of bottles so when I buy from onestop, I usually just throw a couple of them in to keep me supplied.
