No question there is a frustration level with vaping.

I don't know how it happened (sick relative in the hospital and didn't order) but I was out of my favorite e-liquid and all I had at the moment was some bad DIY liquid that almost made me gag.

The only thing that kept me from picking up a cig, is I really don't want to be a smoker. Fed up with being an outcast. The amount of smokers has dwindled so much it's only a couple people hanging on the side of a building. I'm old enough to remember when everyone smoked everywhere.

The smell. God the smell that permeates everything. I went to visit someone in the hospital and two of the people already there were smokers. I could actually smell them in the hallway! I used to smell like that!!!

And I did smoke in my car and house. I figured I pay the mortgage and don't have kids around so why not? When I started vaping I had to have my car detailed. I repainted half the rooms in my house. Had my rugs shampooed. Washed everything not nailed down.

I don't have the energy to smoke again. Cleaning up after myself was too much work.

Vaping cost money, especially the first few months, while you are finding what works best for you. At $5 dollars per day for a pack of smokes you would spend $150 pre month or $1800 per year smoking. As with everything else with vaping we are all different so its impossible to make a lot of statements that will cover everyone but I always tell anyone new or considering vaping not to expect to see any dollar saving for the first six months while they are finding what works for them. That way IF they do see savings they are thrilled and if they dont they are not disapointed. ;) I also tell them that their saving in the second six months will depend upon if thy choose to be content with what they've found works for them OR if they decide to make vaping a hobby :)

I like patronizing my local vendor because I think its important to have local vendors that people can walk into and try things out before buying and be available for emergencies that do arise. BUT being able to price comparison shop online is less expensive and if dollars spent are very important then one needs to purchase their vaping supplies online.

Honestly I dont think you've made the full committment to not smoke. Smoking is always going to be easier then vaping. There are times that vaping can be a PITA, its just the way it is, and thats not going to change anytime soon. I couldnt be happier with all my setups. I could go a LONG time without spending a penny on anything new so anything I spend at this point is simply becuase I wish to, not for any need that I have. But there are still moments every once in a while that something doesnt work as it should and a moments frustration happens for me. I filled a new clearo the night before last in anticipation of leaving the house early yesterday morning and when I woke and went to attach it to my Twist I found that most of the liquid had drained out of the bottom over night. I wasnt happy to need to go grab another new one and fill before I left BUT it wasnt the worst thing thats ever happened and wont be the last time something like that happens ;) :)

Sweet! The frustrations that I have encountered have been with the cartos/clearos/tanks. I'm fine right now with a couple Twists, but getting some bad cartos or inconsistent clearos can be annoying. Finally ordered a Vivi Nova and hope that it is as awesome as everyone says. I like to fill and forget and hope this does the trick.

A friend of mine is donating their Provari to me so I'm going to have (what I consider) a proMod, hopefully being used with my Nova tank it will solidify the whole deal.

My buddy in Ohio who DIYs is probably going to be my juice source.

Thank you all for the advice, any recommendations of nicer quality ViVi style tanks?

For me it's a lesser of two evils. As much as I'd love just to stop smoking as all of us know 9 outa 10 times it ain't that easy.

A friend willing to donate a Provari is a good friend indeed. :thumb:

You should be set as far as juice goes. Try different types of juice categories, you might be surprised what you like. There's tobacco's, menthols, candies, fruits, coffee and teas, deserts and pastries, adult drinks, etc.

The ViVi tanks are relatively new on the vaping scene. I don't care for the polycarbonate plastic tubes myself. They are not safe for use with certain flavors and can possibly leach chemicals into your juice or impart a plastic taste to the juice. I believe Smoktech has released their version of the ViVi with the option of polypropylene tubing, much safer material. I'm hoping for the day someone makes a pyrex glass tube that will work with these.

One day those analogs will end up tasting terrible to you once you find a couple of good juices you like.

For me the price of cigs out weighs the price of vaping by a long shot. NY has cigs at $10 a pack, pack and half a day, well you do the math. If it costs you a few extra dollars a day or you need to clean the parts a bit to have better health over all, well that should be enough said. Best of luck with it all! wish you the best!!!

I have alot of clearo's (Vivi Nova, Vivi Nova mini, Smok Screw tank, Smok Vivi tank, etc.) and with my Smok VMAX I enjoy the Vivi Nova mini with 2.4 ohm heads the best with the voltage set at a mild 3.3 volts. The only reason I prefer the mini over the standard is because I seem to have less dry hits. Probably due to the smaller tank, which does have to be filled a few times a day. I usually only use 50/50 mix juice. To me the Smok Screw tank is nice but I get some horrible leaching (even though it is not supposed to) and can not figure out how to get that taste out of it. Taste is subjective but I think the Vision Vivi tanks are great for the money.

The vivi nova say they are using a stronger plastic now that won't leach and won't crack. Can't say if that is true or not what I can say is, I have had no issue with cracking or it getting cloudy from leaching. They also make an optional metal tube you can get for it.
