Not really..many more people died from drinking unpasteurized raw milk. Ecoli, tuberculosis, etc., etc. When I was little it was my job to tell Mom when the light came on on the pasteurizer.
It was when homogenizing first was used to liquify the hopefully dead bacteria floating in pasteurized milk that pasteurized and homogenized milk finally won the hearts and minds of the Mighty FDA in it's quest for purity. The Dead Bacteria is still in there, along with the remains of a few important enzymes, hair, dirt, you just can't see it now. So what is the difference? We report, You decide.

Replace instances of "Raw Milk" with "Electronic Cigarettes" in that article and it basically reads the same. We all knew of the gestapo like tactics the FDA loves to partake in for years. No big surprise here.

I was waiting for someone to see the connection. Gestapo is exactly what the FDA is trying to be. Whether it is E-cigarettes, Milk, Beans, pills, or salve, they feel that they are the only one to tell us what we can use. And they are becoming brazen about it too.

This is really disturbing. I'm not at all informed about the milk issue but what strikes me the most is the FDA's attitude and more importantly their comments. This only serves to reaffirm what I already believed and that is, the FDA needs to be exposed, called out and completely overhauled - with reasonable limits placed on their powers and scope of jurisdiction and more enforceable methods of oversight, to include much more transparency and Public accountability. Talk about a rogue govt. agency running amok - they have run past amok, far beyond the boondocks, out into the land of tyranny and dictatorial lunacy.

Another example of that crack outfit known as the FDA....

They have approved a known contaminated vacine for sale and use.

(Reuters) - Rotavirus vaccines made by GlaxoSmithKline Plc and Merck & Co Inc are safe to use despite being contaminated with a pig virus, U.S. health regulators ruled on Friday.

The Food and Drug administration, in a statement, said it was safe for doctors to resume giving patients Glaxo's Rotarix and continue using Merck's Rotateq. The agency said there was no evidence the contamination caused any harm and the vaccines were important in preventing hospitalizations and death.

Rest of the story: FDA: Glaxo, Merck vaccines OK despite pig virus | Reuters

There you have it. Contaminated vacines, dangerous Chantix and tobacco cigarettes are all perfectly fine. But e-cigs are dangerous. Ummm....ok...

You're totally correct here D103. However, what's got to happen before it becomes a reality? It took what's currently going on in the gulf for our government to sit up and take notice of the Minerals Management Service. They receive royalties from the oil companies, and yet our legislators wonder why they aren't doing the required inspections? If any police department in the country did what the FDA and MMS are, taking money from the very individuals they are supposed to be keeping honest, it would be considered corruption in the highest form. Why then is it accepted at the federal level?

What a totally messed up arguemnt. Of course they are correct you don't have a right to have any food provided for you. That would mean that someone else had to pay for your food. That is hardly the case here. This is about two people deciding to make a legal transaction they they both believe to be safe and actually benificial. (yes much like e-cigs)

Do they actually believe that people would continue to drink raw milk if it was making them sick? Nope they don't even think about that at all. They are simply big brother and they know best regardless of the facts.

D103 You hit the nail on the head. My point wasn't about the milk at all! It is about the FDA attitude that only they can tell us what to put into our bodies. I have never seen such "tyranny and Dictatorial Lunacy" out of a Governmental Agency. When & Where does it end? I buried my Mom in January. She beat back cancer and died from COPD. Yet they have the stones to try and make us stop vaping. Personally, I think the Govenment allows analogs to collect money and thin the population.
