Pulled a bonehead move starting yesterday afternoon. To begin with, I loaded up both my 510 units together and was switching back and forth to give one atty time to wick up some more juice while I vaped the other. Not a bad strategy in and of itself, but those are the only two attys and batteries that I have. So, when I dropped them in some Isopropyl alcohol this morning and flushed them out before I went to bed, I never imagined that I wouldn't sleep long enough for them to dry before I needed to use them again. Lo, and behold... I slept four hours and awoke to find the attys still drying! Wife's not too happy, I'm bumming analogs from her to tide me over while they finish drying because we haven't bought any camels for me since I ran out the other day, as it is still my full intention to be done with analogs within the next few days. I guess it goes without saying that I'm getting teased mercilessly.

Anybody else pull something like this without thinking?

You should have at least 10 attys! i did the IPA soak...came out tasting like IPA. Ran water through them a few times, blow em out, add few drops of juice,
blow em out again, add a few more drops and i was good to go. Not going to do this anymore; just going to blow em out occasionally and buy more attys.

The LR attys from Eastmall (and Vaporjunction) are getting good reviews, so i ordered a bunch.

After the alcohol soak and rince, I blow them out with canned air several times. Never had a problem and they were dry long before 4 hours.

I don't have a problem with getting bad flavor from the attys as long as I let them dry thoroughly. It's just a matter of letting them dry. LR attys? Are these the longer attys for mega cartridges?

Isopropyl alcohol is quite volatile with a boiling point of 180 degrees F. Even a diluted solution of 40% IPA will boil at less than 200 degrees F. So, if you put your wet atty's in an oven at 200 degrees they should dry fairly rapidly.

We are learning as we go along. I'm still burning a few analogs a day, but don't like or need them nearly as much as I did before vaping.. note to self..get more equiptment

Now that's interesting, cskent. Any idea what effect that might have on the atty components over the long term? Just curious cause I've heard of doing that once before, but wasn't sure what it would do to my attys, and they're the only two I have at the moment.

First, order more atty's. You'll need them anyway. Second it shouldn't hurt anything but I wouldn't want to go over 200 degrees. You mainly want to exceed the flashpoint to remove any liquid that's present as rapidly as possible. The heating element inside your atty probably gets hotter than that anyway. I've gotten my atty's so hot from chain vaping that I couldn't touch them and they still work.

I just rinse my attys under warm tap water and blow thru with my mouth. Then a four second dry burn and I'm good to go.

I have been using the same atty for just about a month and I have never cleaned it with anything, or even blown it out ever and it works just like it did the day I got it. I don't even take the cart off at night. Is there really any reason to soak/rinse/blow out an atty? I guess maybe if it became harder to pull or produced less vapor but I haven't encountered that.

Can also dry them with a blow dryer if putting them in the oven makes you nervous. You probably need to order some back up atomizers soon because they can burn out with no warning.

I soak & rinse my carts and atty's in 70% isopropyl for about 15 minutes, then put them in a shallow bowl, aim the fan on them and they're good to go in less than 30 minutes. Try the fan, it speeds up the process.

Good decision on the atty's and batty's. You need spares just in case. PCC's are great for those who want power when away from a charger, but bring 2 batty's with you anyway. You can use one while the other one is charging.

I have just run them under the tap with HOT water, and dry burn them, I have never lost an atty. I have a lot of them, but just use them for different flavors. When they start to taste icky I rinse em, and dry burn them.

I agree with oettinger, hot water and dry burn and I'm back to vaping. There are tons of suggested ways to clean them, but I've never found a way that does any better than this one. Just be careful on the dry burn so that you don't blow the atty. I just watch for the atty to turn red and then let off. I have the same two attys from my original eGo kit I bought over a month ago and they are still going strong (knock on wood). Jinx, now they will both fry in the next ten minutes.

I dry burn mine as well, going on three months with the same atty's and haven't had one die yet!!

There was a step by step post on that dry burn. I never tried it before, but I did it about two weeks ago when I was down to two working atty's out of seven. I couldn't believe how much this helped! I got ALL of them working again, PLUS...a couple atty's that I threw in a box that stopped working!
