Greetings, fellow vapors!

Well, got the CFO's (wifey) approval and got the Kanger subox Mini, in black!

What can I say about it that hasn't already been said?

Better taste and vapor. Check.

Small, compact and sexy as hell. Check.

Variable wattage with easy to read (and cool) digital OLED display. Check.

Lower costs in the long-run because I can make my own coils. Check.

Easy to use and understand features that even a rookie like myself can understand. Check.

Removeable battery so I can have spares on hand. Check.

Sexy as hell. Check.

Durable. Check. (I already dropped it once) Minor paint chipping is all.

Did I mention sexy as hell?

And the Best Reason? Got a steal of a deal at my local vape shop. It was priced at $79, but it was marked down to $59. After using my coupon, price came down to $49! Pretty nifty, huh!

I hope my luck at getting good deals continues!

Now searching for a silicone sleeve. Hey, look! joyetech is coming out with version 2 of their eVic Mini! No! Must. Resist. Shinyitis! LOL

get the mini 2 .... you NEED a back up :)
The Missus most definitely will NOT approve another mod purchase, since I've already purchased three of them in a month's time. Good idea to keep my eyes open and to stay abreast of the latest news, though. And you can bet, that when I can save up enough to get one, the eVic Mini 2 is in my sights!

Shinyitis is a dangerous thing.

Six colors of silicone skins at Sweetvapes.....don't think you'd want the pink one though. :) BTW, you can also use the ProTank2 coils and the Aspire "Replacement" BVC (non Nautilus) coils in the Subtank.
Really? Are they a perfect fit, or will I have to make some modifications? Those coils are pretty cheap, as compared to the direct replacements recommended by Kanger. I can purchase some of these and save them for when I get lazy building, mounting and wicking my own coils.

At several online sites, I can get at least two 5-packs for the cost of one 5-pack of the pre-built Subtank OCC's.

No adjusting needed, HawaiianVapor. Just screw in base like you would do the OCC coils. Am vaping on the Aspire "Replacement" BVC coil right now. Do rebuild the ProTank 2 coils with 30 ga. Kanthal, CelluCotton wick at around 1.3-1.8 ohms. I am a Tootle Puffer though and the highest wattage I go is around 11.....9 is my average.

The SubTank coils are easy to rebuild horizontally. :)

What about attys? Will the Missus allow toppers? ;) Since you plan on rebuilding anyways, you can upgrade your gear with just the addition of a good RTA or RDA. IMHO, nothing beats the flavor of an RDA. But there are some rebuildable tanks that come super close. And there are some great attys out there, with an affordable price tag.

Please, call me Ross. Sir Ross would be better. LOL Just kidding!
Okie, gonna give those two coils you recommended a try.
I'm a tootle puffer too. Well, kinda sorta. I'm now vaping at around 12 watts now, and the Subox mini vapes just fine. Heck, I even did 11 and it still fired well, but 12 gave me the best flavor. Not much of a 'Cloud Chaser', more of a 'Flavor Chaser'.

On a side note, I tried to rebuild the stock coils on my Joyetech eGo One. Didn't work too well. For that I'll need the CLR model coils which is the rebuildable version.

For that I don't need the 'Boss' approval, and yes, at my age, I still have an allowance. LOL Now that I'm off the analogs, I can put more into vaping gear, and I'm thinking of the UD Bellus next. I like the top fill feature. I was also looking at the TFV4 Mini, but I've heard that it's not for beginners.

I'm an Aromamizer fan, myself. With the Velocity style deck, it's so easy to build on. You can do single coils on it, but i prefer dual vertical.

Well, Sir Ross :D, I stick with horizontal coils 'cause for the life of me can't get the hang of the vertical which makes me irritated that I can't do the coils for the Nautilus. Another reason why I tried the Subtank mini......and made it into a... "Tootletank"! :p
I tried doing the vertical coil on my Joyetech eGo one. It worked pretty good, up to the point that it started leaking!

Vertical coils are a bit of a challenge, huh?

Same here man, does the wife vape? Because I sometimes get away with buying new stuff by getting her something as well.

Also, keep a cig/vape budget comparison. Be careful to only use it when the scale is in your favor hehe.

How do you like the Aromamizer? Is it hard for a beginning coil builder such as myself?
I LOVE my Aromamizers. And my Velocity clone. They both have the same two post deck. They are so easy to build on. Single coil, dual coil, vertical, horizontal...you can do it all on the Aromamizer. It's like a RDA inside a tank. I did my very first vertical build (dual)on it, and did it less then 5 min. And I'm quite the novice, myself.
