Hi, Just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I started using e-cigs about a year ago and stopped smoking analogs completely on 11/13/2010 and have been lurking around this forum for at least that long. Just like lots of other people here I never really intended to quit cigarettes just have a good substitute for when I couldn't smoke, can't believe that it was this easy. I really hope that government regulation doesn't totally mess this up.....

Hello all and thanks for the welcome! Just to clarify, I quit last November but had been headed that way since about April of last year, I quit when I thought my last 2 packs of cigarettes were stale but it turned out that they just didn't taste as good as my juice. :)

Alpha - No side effects other than being able to run longer than I used to and that I can smell a smoker a mile away. Seriously, it was ridiculously easy to stop analogs. The only thing I'd suggest is make sure that you get a high enough nicotine level juice that you get the nic you need, I was a dedicated, 26 year pack a day Marlboro medium smoker and when I first started using e-cigs I got the 24mg juice and it wasn't enough, it wasn't until I started using the 36 mg that I finally stopped analogs all together. Guess what I'm saying is that if it doesn't work for you at first try a different juice, a different battery, a different vendor.... eventually it will work. I was a dedicated smoker with no desire to quit and I have, e-cigs do work.

26 years?? did you start when you were 4??

seriously, great. :D My gf bought us a setup in May of last year when the smoking ban in Michigan went into effect, but I didn't really get into it too much until December, when I started hacking up a lung. I switched almost completely then. I still get a regular one every now and again, but it's usually weeks between. My battery+passthru just died, though, and I decided to spend April's e-cig budget getting a 510-Tank atty instead of replacing that battery, so i'm back to stock 510 batteries, which are garbage, imo, so I might find myself sneaking a hit off this pack of menthols that i've got that I bought in DECEMBER, when all my batteries are not cutting it. If I consider doing that with any regularity, i'm buying a replacement for that battery right away!

Those menthols from December are probably gonna be getting pretty crunchy about now. :)
