So you vape to quit smoking... Will you quit vaping?

I started vaping 9 weeks ago tomorrow and though I was a pack a day smoker of American Spirit yellows for the last 9 years and before that an off & on smoker for 10 years, I haven't touched a smoke since and have no desire to either! That said, I started out on 12mgs and sometimes go lower, but never higher. I can see myself lowering the nic relatively soon, but have no interest in ceasing what was simply a way to quit smoking initially; I enjoy it too much!

Just curious.......
So it seems a lot of people use vaping to quit smoking. Do you guys plan on quitting vaping, eventually, as well? Do you guys consider it a step to stop any sort of smoking altogether or is it a "healthier" substitute for you?

I just switched a few days ago and have cut out regular smokes almost all together after a pack a day for 13 years.

I lost the analogs two months ago after smoking for about 26 years (give or take). I "enjoyed" smoking or at least told myself I did. Now that I've been off the analogs, I don't miss it.

With that being said, I truly enjoy vaping. I'm about to introduce a bit of flavor to go with the current tobacco flavor I am using.

I'm not going to say I'll never quit vaping, but currently I enjoy it and my lungs feel remarkably better. For now, I'm just going with it.

I agree, but I'm one of the lucky ones that switched to vaping with no issue at all, and that was after more than 30 years smoking; so probably no analogues for me. Even if I do forget to vape eventually, I'm still going to keep some cartomizers (blister packed so they last for a couple of years) at hand just in case I too remember.

Yeah it's weird, because I switched to vaping pretty easily too (no tapering off, no smoking except for one small slip) - some days I think I don't care about it at all, other days not so much.

I hope I get to that place, too - where I might leave the house and forget my vape and not care. I expect I will at some point :) Although right now preparing to go someplace usually means making sure at least one of my batteries is fully charged and I have extra tanks and a charger lol

Heck, I'm not thinking that far ahead. Alcoholics and addicts learn to live one day at a time.

Frankly, I'm glad just to be off cigarettes after over a pack a day for almost 24 years. I enjoy vaping, and I enjoy nicotine.

I may quit at some point. I may not. When you see a whole bunch of equipment show up for sale, you'll know I've quit :p

I thought about this too!!! I am buying 6 mg nicotine now... with occasional hits of 12 and 18... I sure have bought a lot of stuff?? I chain vape..... big time I think... So, I am not sure... and my ride isnt over yet...

For me?? Vaping is a whole new life style

1) There is the hardware research
2) Finding the ultimate juice flavor
3) The joy of tinkering with thing
4) The shopping addiction
5) The Youtube reviewers (quite entertaining)
6) This forumn
7) New endeavors I have yet to explore: Vape meets, vaping lounges, DIY juices, rebuildable atomizers (re-wicking an evod doesnt count right??)

So.... I think it will be awhile before I quit vaping.... I have a list of things I want to do?!? but in the meantime - I am feeling better! no more hearing my lungs wheeze when I lay down at night to sleep....

I love vaping.. but... is it just a temporary obcession?? I dunno.... time will tell.

Definitely the reason why I'll continue to vape. I haven't had so much fun with a hobby since building my first computer!

I read that ..and ..I had to use the voice of Captain Beefheart in my head to totally appreciate it

The whooshing sound of wind is blowing through the "So you vape to quit smoking... Will you quit vaping?" thread on ECF and YardByrd is suddenly there, levitating in mid air, his Platinum YB medallion begins to pulse, strobe-like, purple, then orange. You hear an old sounding, vinyl record recording:

"The thick cloud caught the piper cub's tail....a match struck blue on a railroad rail. An old puff horse was just a-pullin' through....and a man wore a peg leg forever!" -C. Beefheart

The whooshing sound returns and blows YardByrd, to you right, out of your field of vision but you can hear his untranslated departing cry:

"CAW!" :)

I like the oral fix. When I have a taste for something fruity, minty, sour or sweet, instead if picking up a candy drop I can vape. I can vape a coffee flavor or juice flavor or any flavor I'm craving and get the nic if needed at the same time. I don't vape as often as I did when I started a year ago so I can see myself at a point where I'd have an "oh yeah, haven't vaped in awhile" moment but not anytime soon.

I have no plans to quit vaping. I started with the NJoy 2 years ago, moved to Blu sometime over a year ago, wanted better and went with Halo (Triton and G6) in the last few months and I've never been happier. I actually enjoy vaping so much more now that I dropped my nicotine level down to 6 just so I can vape more. Tanks and refillable cartomizers are game changers. The flavor options, accessories (I have a shopping "problem") have quickly turned this into a hobby/obsession.

Been vaping for 3-4 weeks now, I can't actually believe I don't know the exact day I stopped smoking. I quit smoking years ago and stayed off for 7 years and hardly a day went by that I didn't miss it. I don't miss it at all now, and I feel SOOO much better. Just ordered a sample pack of 7 different 15ml juices, and I'm really liking this as a hobby. I can see reducing the nic over time, but I'm certainly in no rush.

The only thing that would make this a hassle is if the laws get all twisted about it. And it either a) gets expensive or b) gets really difficult to access. That would piss me off.

For the first time in my almost 40 year 1+ PAD death grip that cigarettes had on me, I am not missing them at all! I'm also not missing that ashtray smell, ashes all over, burned spots on my clothes and in my vehicle, the coughing and wheezing, huffing and puffing when doing anything strenuous. I feel that vaping has saved my life. Started with 24mg nic and am now to 18. I believe it's beyond the nicotine replacement now. It's the fun I have trying new gadgets, flavors and reading a ton here from all you fellow vapers out there. At this point, I can't see me ever stopping, but will level off the nic levels. This is too much fun and relaxing and certainly beats the alternative!

I'm sensing a poll would do better answering this topic.
Vaping till death. My mg are dropping. Dropping to zero isn't my choice, I want the nicotine fix.
Spending is mainly restricted on DIY juice supplies, with some expected occasional part replacement required on the battery mods and/or the nicotine delivery system due to connector wear.
Travel light without a light my friends!
