So you vape to quit smoking... Will you quit vaping?

I quit smoking ALL "substances" except 100% organic VG.

This has saved me $6000/year. I keep my nic down to 0.6% or lower and enjoy the fact that I can now walk away from my vice any time I want!!!

I will quit vaping when I can no longer save the money or get my low dose nic in the future as it's looking rather bleak at this time for financially responsible vaping future.

To date I've saved $2000 in just a few months and completely ridden myself of nicotine addiction. This will cost my government about $3,000/year in taxes they formerly believed I would pay for life. I doubt the US will let go of 50 billion dollars a year in tax revenue that big tobacco creates. At the rate this ecig industry is growing the tax man will be knocking soon and I'll stop vaping because I'm not going to pay a tobacco tax ever again in my life.

Until then vape away I do and I will be eternally grateful for this blessing on my health and family. I tried everything to quit smoking including chantix which probably screwed up my brain for life but didn't get me off cigarettes. Chantix is a dangerous $160/month pharmaceutical and doesn't work. Beware.

Been vaping for 8 days, after 50 years of smoking, during the heavy years a pack a day (20-25) was my normal, but since retiring (6 years) maybe half a pack (5-10) but couldn't quite quit, but I can now say that I haven't touched or needed to smoke a cigarette (...) (touch wood) in a week.

The most important thing is I am enjoying this new (to me) experience of vaping, will I quit ... I don't think so ... enjoying this experience to much.

In all those years of smoking I never really tried to quit ... Time will tell ...:vapor:

I have been thinking about this recently.............if the government manages to tax e-cigarettes and juice up to the 75% some states have approved, it is banned, it can only be bought at B&Ms for a large mark-up or whatever; I will probably quit vaping

Not going back to smoking but wouldn't pay hundreds a week to keep vaping either.

My husband got me vaping. To say I was reluctant would be an understatement. I'm a very skeptical person. Part of my profession is to question everything and believe nothing unless I have facts from sources, preferably more than one. A week after starting I realized no longer was I not smoking but cigarettes weren't the same. I don't see myself not vaping or lowering my nic. I'm happy at 18 mg. While I have a stressful job and vaping calms me, I can go for hours without craving a vape. With cigarettes after an hour I'd be climbing the walls. Health wise I can climb stairs easier and breath a lot better. The smokers cough I was beginning to get is gone. If my blood pressure stays the same my doc will start weaning me off it. I'm starting to lose weight I gained because I'd snack when I couldn't go out for a smoke. Plus the flavors I use keep the cravings for sweets at bay. I guess I'll stop vaping when my eVic is pried from my cold dead hand :D

I would say you are a CO? Or work for a PD?

This is exactly how I feel as well...

I originally started vaping to stop smoking and figured the natural progression of things was to one day give up vaping... I am not so sure anymore. The more I learn about everything and the more I get into custom setups, the more I really enjoy it. I could see myself getting down to a really low nic level or none at all at some point but I think I will still vape. Time will tell I guess.

In answer to the OP's question....most likely not, but then again, I wondered if I would ever stop smoking analogs.

Secondly....Chambo007, is that a Kimber? Can't quite tell with the size of the pic.

this thread makes me think of methadone for some reason.

i enjoy making my juices too much to stop the activity that i make them for, and it would be unfair of me to stop providing family and friends with their preferred juices.
when i started vaping 4 years ago, it was because i was intrigued by the technology, not so i'd quit smoking. since then however, i've recommended it to lots of people as a way to reduce or eliminate their smoking habit, and helped them get setup with their first gear.

I have been cigarette free since Jan having quit a 14 year habit. It became natural for me to smoke while driving or enjoying a pint or after a good meal. More so for me, I really enjoy the actual exhale and the visual draw of the 'cloud' though I do not chase or go for the massive fog bank. Is the habit breakable? I do not know. I do know that I am repulsed by the analog now that I have a smell free and health risk free option. Besides, I have young children and this will not cause them respiratory problems. Lastly, lets add to the equation that I enjoy inhaling / exhaling the flavor (I started my smoking experience with cloves).

Enter vaping. I am on my third device, now a mech mod with RBA. Previous to this was the vv/vw. So there is a progression. Though the progression has lead to the need for less and less nicotine. I have gone from 18 to 12 and still feel that a move to 6 is very close. Considering that when I do not have my vape gear on me I think about analogs ALOT, I do not think of this as a move to quit the addiction to the inhale / exhale. I feel that this is a healthier option to something that I have come to enjoy.

So long as science (real science, not the public policy driven dog and pony show some call science) doesn't somehow prove vaping to be immensely unhealthy on the level of smoking, why quit?

Nicotine in and of itself isn't harmful or unhealthy in the doses we all vape at. Quitting smoking for me wasn't about not stinking, but about doing everything I can to avoid another heart attack (even if not stinking is a very nice side effect of quitting smoking). If I could smoke without dealing with the health effects of smoking I wouldn't have quit. Why quit vaping, something I enjoy every bit as much as I enjoyed smoking, when I can get the satisfaction I desire without all of the nasty side effects?
