I bought a V2 starter kit. Thanks Google. Ha, well, I don't mind these actually. The manual isn't holding a charge for crap, so it's going back and they're sending me another one. On the other hand, the XL automatic I got is great - the charge lasts me almost two days! But - now I know I overpaid and screwed up. Apparently I should go buy a Joye Ego.

Anyway, I'm thinking of just keeping this stuff though, since my intention is to try to wean myself off nicotine. Does anyone know for sure whether V2 is really KR808D-1? I understand I can refill even these cartomizers, but what method do you have to use? Inject with a syringe, or can you just stick it in a plastic cap (I know they're called condoms, I can't bring myself to do that quite yet) filled with juice like I saw it in some video?

Or should I just send these back and get an Ego. The thing is, I like holding this rip-off Ecig. I know I should go buy some contraption which produces a ton of vapor and flavor, but honestly, if I'm just an addict sucking on a weird-looking contraption, I'm not really all that into it (which however might be a good thing if my goal is to quit.) I still really like the feeling of holding a small eCig, I like playing with it, so I need something small. If I want a contraption, I'm just going to buy a hookah, which are really nice and much better for you than regular analogs. I am really not into the research and experimentation. I just want a nic fix from an ecig that is light enough to hold that I can puff on in a bar without getting REALLY strange looks (a blue LED is bad enough but people are starting to know what they are.) It's bad enough I'm going to have to experiment with juice and stuff. There are really too many choices...

Anyway, recommendations? I guess a 510 model type is just a little thicker than a regular cig right? I suppose I could live with that...As long as it's not so weighty I can't hold the thing. I have 15 more days to return this thing.

If it's really a KR808 it's fine. The price might be high, but I wouldn't worry. Look around for compatible accessories such as atomizers, cartridges, and such. The reason the 510 and EGO are so popular is that there's no end to the accessories and mods you can do to the stock EGO with a 510 thread.

I also like the 306 atty with a drip tip. It will fit 510 threads, so you can put it on the EGO batt.

After Googling and looking at the prices, I'd say you paid at least twice what you could have gotten a Riva 510 Lite bundle for from E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings. If you look there, you can get the Riva 510 for $29.99 after the 20% discount (click the discount icon on the top left of page). That kit has 2 750mah batts, 2 attys, 5 empty carts, and a nice leatherette box with a drawstring bag.

Welcome to ECF!

First of all, you'll need to figure out what you want more. Long battery life or looks like a cigarette? You can't have both. Smaller batteries mean less life between charges. If you want a longer time between charges then you'll have compromise with a "contraption", as you put it.

Cartomizers can be filled in any of the ways you mentioned. You can also fill using the drip method, which is what I prefer. It's less messy and doesn't really take any longer, IMO.

I would also suggest staying away from automatics. They have a hole where the connection is and if you get juice in there it can ruin the battery. Manuals are the way to go because they're sealed.

I use the condom method and it's so fast and easy. Yes, you'll have to wipe up a little bit when you're done, but the ease of doing it is worth it. I've never tried dripping, but I'm leary of dissecting cartomizers. Supposedly it "wastes" juice, but honestly, juice is so cheap, I don't care if I "waste" a little. :)

I don't use the condom method. I use soft-cap cartos and I pop the cap and fill them that way. I like to see that the air channel is straight and clear of juice and that there is no juice pooled above the stuffing etc. If your V2 cartos have hard or glued tops, you may need to use the condom method.

KR8 manuals actually are not totally sealed on the end, but it would take a lot more leaked juice to kill one. Autos are dependent on a drag sensor right inside the hole.
