So I was trying to refill the tank on my ego one, it was stuck (it has a habit of getting stuck), and without thinking too much I unscrewed it with my teeth. Heard a tiny "crack". Uh oh. juice started leaking everywhere and now the tank has a hole in it, rendering it unusable. Since I'm only 1.5 weeks into quitting analogs and have no intention of going back I got on the phone and immediately ordered a Kanger Subox Mini Tank kit to replace the Ego One. I was thinking about getting just the Kanger tank but I think it's good to have a backup battery just in case and the Kanger fits on the Ego battery.

Hopefully this stupid mistake will lead to a better vaping experience with the Kanger Subox. If there are any Subox kit owners here, is it a good device and can you get decent mouth-to-lung hits on it? I've read conflicting reports about the air intake holes.

The Subox is a very good medium power machine. I don't know anybody who has one who doesn't like it. As to the subtank for MTL, it would not have been my first choice. You may want to look into an Aspire Nautilus. They're not hideously expensive, and most B&Ms stock it for emergencies like biting a hole in your tank ;-) The Subtank will work for MTL, but you'll want to put the high value coil-- I think they're 1.2 ohm-- in it. They usually come out of the box with the .5 coil installed. Keep the power down on the tall coil; I'd say start at 8 or 10 watts and work up slowly. And you'll want to close the air flow pretty far for MTL. Finally, I usually find a pair of rubber-sheet jar openers from the grocery store work better than teeth to persuade a sticky tank. Wrapping the tank parts with rubber bands is also useful. I think you'll be happy with the Subox, it's nice gear.

I thought the Kt. Subox was so good,,,, I bought both the black 1st then the white one.
It has the capability to charge the battery in unit, but its best to get a nice charger, AND THE RIGHT BATTERIES!!

The kit comes with an RBA which works great, especially when I build a vertical coil in it.
The air flow with a vertical coil is 3's greater than a horizontal coil and wick.
