I've been having a hell of a time trying to figure out the reason why, and the quickest/correct method to combat the burning taste so many of us get so often (or maybe just me??). A good percentage of my smoking sessions lately have aggravatingly ended in me getting an ongoing burning taste that I can't get rid of without trying a million different things until it finally ceases. I can't keep having to do this because it takes up wayyy too much time!

The reasons for the burning taste are one of a few things we all always suspect, such as:

1. Not enough liquid in the cart/atomizer

2. Burned liquid stuck in the atomizer

3. Filler fibers from the cart stuck and burning on the atomizer somewhere

4. Atomizer getting too hot from too much use too fast

I'm sure there are others, but overall, I haven't figured out which exactly it is that causes this so often for me using my DSE901b, even with different batteries and atomizers.

Now for the solutions- they have to be one of these because after trying so many things, something works eventually:

1. Cleaning of the atomizer under water followed by blowing from the battery-end until all old liquid is blown out. Then a few new drops are dripped in the atomizer and a cart with liquid is used like normal.

2. Searching for and removing any stray fibers in the atomizer either by normal light or by black light even though sometimes it is impossible to get some fibers out of there.

3. Adding of new liquid to the cartridge
because there is not enough in there for the atomizer to use

The thing that boggles my mind is that #3 seems to work the most for me I believe but I usually don't think the cart filler NEEDS any more liquid in there. I feel like I already drip so much in there and it still looks moist and liquid gets on my finger when I touch it, but somehow I really still do have to add more to fight the burning taste. In other words, I feel like I too often have to add more liquid to get the right taste where there's definitely still plenty of liquid already in the filler by the looks and feel of it. I guess this "lack" of liquid causes the atomizer to basically be burning nothing (?) when you inhale, causing the burning taste (?) even though I still get vapor (!?).

BOTTOM LINE: Way too often am I smoking just fine with great taste when all of a sudden I get the burning taste nonstop and none of the easy attempts at fixing it work. It mostly seems like the liquid is just not making it to the right place in the atomizer or the atomizer just isn't burning it the way it's supposed to be...SOMETHING to do with the liquid/cartridge/atomizer connection and I just am sick to my stomach trying to figure out what exactly is causing it...it's taking up so much of my time and it's just ruining all of my e-smoking experiences!

If you feel like it, reply with a number for both of the sections above that you believe are most likely correct- one for the cause of the burning and one for the solution out of the ones I typed or if none of them are your answer, then give me ones you know of that I didn't list. OR just give me your opinion on it and what I might be able to do to figure this out. I know there are some of you out there with way more experience who have to know the answer. Thanks!

Don't have the answer, but what I do, is put a fresh cart of a different flavour (menthol) & charged battery on the 901, then put it away for a couple of hours and 'smoke' the super mini. When the 901 comes out of 'quarantine' it always seems fine to me.

direct drip a couple of drops into the atomizer.. its not enough liquid getting to the atomizer heater.. this causes it to run hotter.. ..

once the atomizer wire wool is run dry simply popping a new cart in dosnt re-wet it straight away..

direct dripping "experts" use the burn taste as sign to re-drip..

trying to get the most out of a cart ends up with the wire wool too dry.. the wire wool needs a re-prime.. this is why cart topping or direct dripping works best..

Perhaps leaving aside for a wee while is having the same effect, bit of juice eventually getting to the atomiser thingy from the new/topped cart?

yep.. the wetness factor equalizes.. but as the cart slowly empties the wetness factor get less the vapour production gets less with it..

regular topping or direct dripping is the only real answer for people who want lots of vapour all the time..

The burnt taste is from the atomizer getting dry. Unfortunately, carts don't seem to keep the atomizer properly charged with juice. I have found that two of drops of juice directly on the atomizer and reinsert the cart give the best smoke. Even more than dripping without a cart. When I start detecting a bit of burnt taste, its time to re-drip.

Okay so a few things to those responses:

If you often have to drip into the atomizer just to keep it wet and keep the burning taste gone, then isn't it just constantly running off of that liquid that you drip in there and seems to not even be using the cart liquid at all??
Isn't it essentially using the drip technique because it is constantly using what you have to drip into the atomizer and maybe isn't properly getting the liquid from the cart filler like it should be at all??
In other words, it feels like you have to keep adding liquid right into the atomizer as it is just not getting the liquid from the cart at all! Who's to say that it is not just exclusively using that dripped liquid to create vapor and completely not getting any liquid from the cartridge??

ALSO, say you are smoking moderately, like a puff every 5-15 seconds during a session for a while. How often during that should you have to refill the cart/drip into the atomizer to keep the taste going well? Not for a while right? Shouldn't be till much after you've finished that session right?

we think a 901 needs a 4/5/6 drip top up 3 to 4 cigs.. into the cart wool not th atomizer..

a classic is best with no cart at all and dripped directly into the atomizer.. just use the mouthpiece.. 2/3 drop at the most.. say one 1 to 2 cigs..

a pipe n the other hand takes up to 6/7 drips direct into the atomizer say 5 cigs..

its what our experience tells us.. these are off the top of my heads figures..
