I love my RDAs. RDAs are beastly IMO, the flavor and vape production are massive. I would start with a three post like the patriot or the tugboat. I don't really like the magma. However if you plan to start dual, tri or quad coils I would recommend the plume veil or the big block 454. Make sure you read up on ohms law and battery safety. Baditude has most everything you need to know on his blog, so I would start there before you go anywhere else.

I've used cartos and tanks and I'm ready to upgrade. I'm looking to get opinions on rebuildables for my nemesis clone.
Would you recommend RBAs or RDAs?
Any recommendations for a specific model for a first rebuildable?

since you have a nemesis, consider the 3d rdta; works hybrid with the nemesis and has a well under the deck; you press down on the topcap get force liquid up to the coil with one hand, instead of dripping from above with two hands.

I have the 3D and i consider it as an experiment gone horribly wrong.
Yes it's an RDAs but it's the worst that iv'e used so far.
If you want an RDA with a deep well that can hold a lot of juice, get the Magma instead.

For me, RDAs are great for at home use. They're pretty much a must if want to get into high wattage vaping. And they're also great for trying out new flavors.

But I prefer RBAs for for general use and for out and about use. Some people don't mind carrying juice and refilling an RDA when they're out. Me, I prefer having a device that can hold a lot of juice and that I don't have to mess with when I'm out of the house.

Now, there are a couple of tank/dripper hybrids out, such as the Big Dripper and the Pontus. They're basically a dripper with a tank on top; when the dripper runs low on juice, you push down on the drip tip that allows juice to flow to the dripper. Haven't used one yet, although I have a Big Dripper on order from Focalecig.

Edit: for RDAs, my preference is the Plume Veil or Magma. The Plume Veil is easy to build dual coil on, as the center positive post has two holes instead of the one that most 3 post RDAs have, so that you don't have to try to squeeze two wires into. The Magma' advantage is that it has a deep well that you can stuff with wicking to hold a lot of juice.

For RBAs, I'd suggest a Kayfun or a Fogger v4. Kayfun's are typically single coil builds, good for new as well as advanced users. Foggers are dual coil builds, and I've personally had better luck with them. I have both, but the Fogger is my go to RBA.

I wouldn't reccomend you start with a Plume Veil for your first RDA. With my experience, the PV only shines when you push it. <0.3 ohm builds, otherwise it's fairly lackluster.

I think the best RDA to start with is something simple, like the Tugboat or Patriot (though you many need to drill the holes out on this one). It'll teach you how to build but still be good (unlike the other newby recommends like the Igo-L). I still use my tugboat, and I love it to death.

If you're at all interested in tanks, the Kayfun is a bridge between rebuildables and clearos/tankos/etc in my opinion as the options on it are quite limited. Particularly the LiteV2+. The airflow on it is more like a clearo than a rebuildable, and I really dislike it. I like airy draws with lots of vapour and flavour. RDAs really do shine in this but there are some tanks that do perform well: The Fogger (v5 is now out btw, eciggity has it...just ordered one last night :)), the Orchid, Taifuns (no experience with this to be honest, but I hear they're "better kayfuns"), and the SQuape.

Just look around, and start with a clone imo. That way you won't drop a ton of money on something you may not even be interested in doing (mucking around with wires and wicks and builds and ohms and oh my). If it's something you're into then consider grabbing an authentic later.

**Before you fire your build regardless of what gear you get, know your Ohm's law and have a resistance checking device.. Know your battery. Safety first!**
