I'm looking to buy a nice kit and I came across this one Smoktech Zmax Telescopic Kit Stainless Steel Variable Voltage Wattage Mod | eBay If you could check it out and give me some feedback thatd be awesome :)

this kit is a much better deal - Authentic Sigelei Zmax V3 Flat Top Telescope- Body, Batteries, Case, & Charger!

true sigelei zmax3 - 18350 and 18650 battery - new oled screen instead of old style led in the smoktech -

skip the mech kit - mechs are for advanced hobbyist users - and the battery is a trustfire (bad reviews as far as being used for vaping and you are just tempting fate and karma by using a battery with "fire" in its name)

I like the second one, but I'd be very wary of sleezbay for much. I don't have any experience with either myself. I just purchased a Vamo V5 with two efest 18650 2k maH batts and trustfire charger for around $70. I'd post the vendor, but haven't seen them on the approved list here so not sure I am allowed without it getting deleted.

EDIT: The trustfire charger is only temp until I get a nitcore next month with my other 18350 batts.

I checked that out and it has really good reviews but also I am looking to get into this as a hobby. I like tinkering with things so would this mod be a good choice? Also it said ego 510 thread what does that mean exactly?

How do you like it so far? From what I've gathered vamo is a good brand

The Zmax has a 4Amp limitation so you will be able to build anything on there safely. I own one and love it. 510+eGo means you'll be able to screw everything under the sun onto it (except 808-threading which is only found on cig-a-like batteries).

I would personally go for the newest version of the Zmax which is the V5. Older versions of the Telescopic Zmax may have quality control issues, new production runs of the V3 and V5 are identical but there's no real way of telling until you have it in your hands. With the V5 you're pretty much guaranteed to have a good quality model as it's the newest.
The unit itself costs anything between $50-65 so don't get ripped off.
Chargers should be of a respectable brand and same goes for the batteries. If the kit doesn't specify you're probably getting the cheapest stuff the supplier could find. They can be very unsafe if something happens to them.

I own a vamo v2 and Zmax v5 and they're both really great. The Zmax does outperform my outdated vamo, can take more battery sizes and I think it looks better too.

I got the Zmax v3 mini and then a Zmax v5 telescoping (so I could use the 18650's, should've done that at the beginning but I was bumping up from the eGo so I didn't know any better and hadn't found ECF yet). Both have been great, no issues, everything fit well, looks great and fairly solid. The v5 telescoping has a bit of rock on the extension tube if you don't spin it down tight (and that makes the battery spring go SPROING! when you undo the bottom cap) that's already been noted by others.

I've only been using tanks like the VapeOnly mini BCC, ismoka megatank BCC, Kanger Pro 2 (ack!), Viva Nova, and even the iClear 30s I got with my Innokin VTR rig. All work great on them.

The charger on the v3 kit crapped out after 3 weeks (light stays green without a battery in it even), so I kicked down to buy the 4bay intellicharger i4 (nitecore) which works great with all the batteries I have so far.
