To me, they occupy different spaces in the vaping world. The EVO, with its high amperage but only three voltage settings, is ideal for pushing low res dual coil cartomizers to where they vape incredibly. It also has a raised 510 connection that fits eGo accessories nicely, so that's a bonus too. There is no drip well however so it is not ideal for dripping. It's also a stacked arrangement though, so if safety is a concern and the one you buy doesn't have vent holes, you can always do my hotspring mod for peace of mind.

The LT however has an amp limit, so it's not ideal for dual coils. It's good for most everything else though, takes larger batteries, and has more granular voltage control. It does have a drip well so it's fine for dripping.

In either case the batteries they come with are serviceable but not ideal, so I would recommend also buying some AW IMR batteries to use in them. They make a significant difference.

The red mini was calling to me to, if Canada Post cooperates I should be vaping with it on Monday

Thanks, Mindfield. As I a horizontal coil carto fan and would like to start my 'dripping' experience, it is sounding like the LT is the best way for me to go. Ease of use is of prime importance as well. And there is a red mini-LT that is calling to me ... :)

Yeah, if you're a dripper or single-coil carto user, the LT would be your best bet. Me, I'm not a dripper, and I love LR dual coils in tanks so the EVO fits that profile perfectly. I use my LT/Mini mostly when reviewing juices, where I do drip (and most often overdrip :)).

FWIW I have been loving mine :) My whole plan of using the ego VV first and then the LT was side tracked by a charged LT battery and all its shininess :) I haven't put it down since Friday...

I have been dripping, and tanking, and stardusting and carting it... all with success and even with my messy dripping attempt ( ps. they blow down the drip tip for a reason dont forget like I did once lol ) I didn't kill anything and still got to vape it :)

I'm afraid I lived under power lines as a child, and am a little slow. Are you saying the imr batteries make a difference in the lava tube? If so how are they different than the stock LT batteries.

I assume he is talking about the EVO and the mini LT? I dont think you can get AW IMR's in the normal sized LT, or i am also confused haah

I am a dripper and killed my EVO dead in a matter of hours. Think it was first generation and there was definitely no sealing between the atomizer and the electronics. Hopefully the next one I get will be sealed, but will be checking that out closely before dripping. Luckily I have a couple of Vision cartomizers that I am trying out for the first time. I am enjoying them so far, and may switch over to a tank system. Sure burns through a lot more juice though!

One of these days we have got to meet. Would love to see the LT in person and in action. Have a couple of juices you might like to try as well.

hey Fisher, ya for sure, although i am akin to a hermit and extremely awkward in public! lol. My LT is dead of course but Adam is sending me a SS LT so you can see that one....I pick my sister up every once in a while, as you know, so next time i go i will see if you are around. :D

I love my EVO but have found that it sucks on both my LR and SR Stardusts at even the lowest setting. That, I regret. On the DCT tanks it's fantastic. Looks great too. I can't comment on the LT as my Apollo SS LT order is delayed and I haven't tried one. Lol got so ...... off with the latest delay that I went and ordered a Provari mini. However, between Mindfield and therealmac you'll get the best advice around. I'm still learning!

Yes, they do. They batteries that come with both the standard and mini LT are very generic IMRs. They only charge to 4V and don't seem to put out the same level of current. IMRs have no trouble handling everything the LT demands and they charge to 4.2V (as batteries should), plus have a much more attractive power curve.

It sounds counterintuitive to think that a buck/boost system isn't putting out the same current regardless of the batteries that are in it, but believe me, if the battery can't keep up with the demands the buck/boost requires to charge its coils in order to ramp the voltage up, then the device isn't going to give the vape it should. AW IMRs have no trouble keeping up with demand so they let the device put out the vape it's supposed to.

AW IMRs fit fine in both the LT and mini.

Oh Canada
Hey Fisherpal, I'll give you my 2 cents here. I've had both the LT and EVO. I sold my LT and now just use the EVO. Never had a problem with the LT but as of today I have now gone through 2 switches with my EVO. Left me high and dry for the second time in the 2 weeks or so of use Ive gotten out of it. They have some bugs to work out on this thing big time.

I'd go with the LT until the EVO gets all the kinks worked out.

Haven't got a LT, but have an EVO and Provari.

Have the original EVO, never had any issues with it since day one, and outside of the reviewers, I have one of the first available here in Canada. Rock solid, and love the DCT's on it. Higher ohm singles and atty's work very well as well. Not part of the original post/question, but the Provari obviously handles everything exceptionally well.

If you go with a LT, make sure you get the adapters so you can use everything on it. (510-ego, 510-510 sealed and unsealed, etc...)
