Hi everybody,

I'm a newbie....... yes, I said it.... I'm a newbie.......

I am thoroughly enjoying my time here, and all the vaping I've been doing.

I'm going through the natural process of starting with cartos, then moving on to kanger minis,

and yes, even building my own coils......

Now that I'm building my own coils, I'm thinking.......... and I'm asking.......

Does anybody custom wick their coil depending on the juice they are using?

I mean... a clear juice..... like black cherry for instance........ allows my coil to last a hell of a long time.... whether I rinse it or not

..and darker juice... like a mild tobacco.......... even with rinsing it off every night, it starts to get crappy really quick.....

def 'really crappy'....... the draw gets tight, the taste gets distant, etc etc... I'm sure you know what I mean.....

So.....

Does anybody custom wick their coil depending on the juice they are using?

Is cotton better for dark liquid or for clear? is silica better for the thick liquid?

Like that.........

ok..... discussion is open!

thanks,

George

I run a specific wick for each atty, not for each flavor. I'm big on gennys but I like some juices better in a kayfun. That being said I run cotton wicks in all of my attys. In some gennys I run cotton yarn. I tend to run juices that gunk up in attys that are the easiest to change n rewick but they are all pretty much easy with cotton.

I mainly use cotton micro/nano coils in all my Kayfuns. SS rope in my gennies. The slant coil hybrid attys in my Vmods and standard silica wick in my Taifun.

Only use Grants vanilla custard in the Taifun on silica. The GVC doesn't taste right on cotton, SS rope or in the Vmod.

Some of my juices don't taste right in the Vmod either, so I only use the stronger fruity flavours in it. Bakery flavours taste too muted.

In the Reo, I only ever vape cappuccino juice, this really gunks up the coils fast. With the RM2 being so easy to re-wick, I stick to the one juice in the Reo/RM2.

So it looks like I do match my wicks up to certain juices. I sound like a real oddball now

I'm starting to notice a decrease in flavor on my kayfun, and it's irritating. When I first fill it it is works great. During the second fill, I rinse it and change the wick. Really quickly, I start to get less vapor and less flavor. I think it depends more on the coils then the wick in my opinion. I only use 100% organic cotton for everything. It's the best for me and the cheapest also. When I drip I feel I need to change wicks all the time.
