So,
I'm kinda a tube mech guy. Just really dig 'em.
However, the REO movement is so pervasive on this turf that I feel I have to ask for input.
I'm looking at spending money I really shouldn't on a new device. Don't know if sanity will prevail and I'll settle for my currents for a while, or sanity will fail and I'll buy something for feel good reasons (been vaping for three years, but my one year tobacco free is this month).
Choices on the board:
A REO LP of some kind (attracted to copper vein), or a Paps Lux v3.
If a REO, I'll need new attys.
I know that there are fans of both here.
Already have a second hand Lux 2.5 18650 that I think is 'wow!.'
Drooling over an 18500 v3 set up. I can use either bottom and top caps on both.
Give me pros and cons for REO and/ over Paps.
Looking forward to this! ;)
Thank you, dear family!
Btw, I've always been mostly an RTA/rba user. Dripping tastes great, but don't have the patience for it most of the time, only use a dripper at home and want to be able to safely and easily carry.

I will say though, if you get a REO, I'd sell you an unused RM2 bottomfed atty for very cheap bro. Since I got my Odins, I no longer need that as backup my man. Keep it in mind :) or I'd trade for a small bottle of 6mg juice.

If he doesn't want the RM2, I'll take it. Considering getting a reo also. :)

Go Reo man. This is coming from a guy that has had 3 mech mods and a regulated mod. Since I got my Reo I haven't looked back. I wouldn't consider it dripping though. You squeeze a bottle for a couple seconds and it saturates your wick. No need to carry a spare bottle around to drip through the top every few pulls. I have my Odins, but a lot of people like the RM2 like Sloth said.

The biggest hurdle for people with the Reo is the shape. If you don't mind that, I'd say go for it. If you end up not liking it, you can easily get your money back (sans shipping).

The Reo is really the best all around compromise. It hits hard, but not as hard as some of the best mechs out there. Squonking is always going to be more convenient than dripping. Not everyone likes the smaller atties that tend to get put on top of a Reo, but with an LP you can put a 22mm atty on there if you want.

You sound like you're in the same situation I was. I was using Kayfuns when out and about and dripping at home. My Reos have pretty much replaced my Kayfuns and I still use the Reos about half the time at home too. Squonking has a small learning curve, but once you get past it it's one of the best ways to vape.

im not familiar with the other device either, but will say that the reo goes with me everywhere...i sometimes pull out my provari and slap my PT2 on it, or the occasional dripper, but the REO just satisfies for me anyway :)

also I find the RM2 to be a great atty...mines is not modified at all and I use just a single coil on it ar between 1.3-1.4 ohms :)

A Reo is not going to hit as hard as a Paps. I have a v2 and an X (not Lux). However, it is difficult to beat some of the really nice atties converted to BF for the Reo and the ability to change flavors on the fly without having to empty a tank or a bowl.

I do have tanks that taste every bit as good as anything else and in some cases excel. Like several other people here, I build for the juice. I have a mod/atty combo for every single juice I vape on a regular basis. I prefer to use my Reo's for the coil gunkers on the go because of the ease to dry burn and rewick without the mess of actual dripping.

I've got to admit, I've got the sloths tunnel vision myself. I haven't used a tube mod in almost a year. I came into to REOville because of all the hype and said I want to try it but I'll never get rid of my tubes. It wasn't a month later that (almost) everything else was sold.

All the benefits of dripping, none of the hassle, bulletproof, feels great in the hand, unparalleled customer service, constant innovation and input from Rob... I could go on. I'm not saying it's for everyone, I've heard that there are some people who don't like them  but for me, I'll never go back to the tube.

I doubt I'll be much help with my 2 cents. When I first found NT, the enablers made a lot of sense to me and I bought my first Reo pretty early in my vaping adventure. Fast forward almost a year, and I love my Reos. I hardly ever use anything else.

Keep in mind, I'm lazy. I want easy builds, good flavor, and convenience. The Reo fits the bill for all of the above for me. I was so over tanks and their issues and I'm way too lazy (i.e. busy) to drip. REO is perfect. I never found the shape to be much of an issue for me although I thought it might be at first.

I'm with DaBucs and find the RM2 hard to beat. I have other attys but come back to the RM2 for simplicity and flavor. Did I mention I'm lazy?? LOL

Wow!
More to think about than I thought!
Thank you all and keep the comments coming.
Either one is a considerable investment for me. I'm a flavor chaser, not a cloud chaser, but have found the two are not necessarily exclusive.
Thought this decision would be easier. I was wrong.

I am a flavor chaser, which is why I find the perfect build for each juice I vape. So far the BF converted Marquis is the best combo for me on a Reo with the Cyclone being second. Of course, the Vertex is supposed to be amazing in flavor when converted to BF. I am on the lists for both a Chalice III and a couple of Nuppins' so I can give my comparisons on those in a couple of months.

I would sell a Reo before I would sell my Paps X. Of course, I can buy 2 Reo's for the price of the X... but that is a different animal altogether :)

Another vote for REO. Dripping without all the mess and fuss. Like you said you only drip at home with the REO you can drip anywhere. For a topper PDIB is doing a second run of Nuppins right now. Wouldn't be a bad one to try you can do single or dual coils with it. Chalice is great for flavor and single coils. I need to pick up an RM2 since everyone always sings it's praises and for the price you can't go wrong. There are lots of other BF RDA options too. Odin, chowderhead, etc. Good luck on your journey.

Why would you part with a REO before a Paps?

I have the paps luxe v3 and three reo's. Bought the gp PAPS first. Havnt used it again and don't plan on using it.
I buy avid's cisco, aero and hh.357 atties as well as shorty cartos.

I love being able to buy it all in one place. I also use the Ebaron on occasion when I want to mess with building.
The grands battery life lasts me all day.
It's simple. No bottles to carry and i have come to love the box shape.

My mod doesn't get knocked over. Fits better in my pockets. I never even lock it.
I think the reo is more versatile than people realize.

I also like being able to wash it in the sink with soap and water.
I like how easy it is to disassemble.
I also like that each part is replacable and the parts are cheap,

I stripped the top cap on my GP paps and it's $50 to replace it.

I also like that there is no polishing.

I like seeing how much juice is in the reo bottle.

Changing flavors is easy.
Replacement bottles are cheap.

That's all I have off the top of my head.

The only slight disadvantage I found with the reo is that you have to have more than one of them. I figured I had bought and tried many things and I would have some great backups. After using the reo, I know I will never go back to the sub par level of vaping I knew. Here is a thread that will give you some idea of how we love them.

No matter what you decide on, remaining smoke-free and enjoying vaping is what it is all about. Good luck to you.
