I recently bought the named batteries for my Vamo V6 and when the came in the mail all they said on them is CGR18650CH and 18650 3.7 v 2250 mAh Li-ion. And an explosion warning. I was wondering if anyone has bought these from orbtronic and if they were Authentic Panasonic and how you liked them. I was also curious why they are not labeled Panasonic if anyone happens to know off hand.

Thanks in advance for your replies everyone.

I don't own these batteries. Orbtronic is on my known good vendors list so I trust them. What you're describing looks like what they show in the picture on their website. The same is shown here, here and here.

I don't know why manufacturers don't display their names more prominently on batteries. The same is true of Sony, LG and Samsung. If I didn't know the model numbers, I wouldn't know who made them.

@ ryedan thanks for your reply.

Another question I was wondering is, is it safe to leave the battery in my Vamo with the vamo off. I remember someone mentioning that they did and that it was okay, but then I also remember someone saying they left it like that in a backpack and her backpack caught fire. She was also unsure though, of what caused the mod to catch fire. So I'm not sure. It would suck to have to take out the battery everytime I go out and am using the ego's.

I always take my batteries out when I leave the house. Untwist the cap. take battery out.. put in plastic case. What 10 seconds if that?

Yes it should be safe. The only time it is not safe is that one time exception. Make sure you turn it off though.

I think it comes down to use... Bear in mind that other than flashlights and mods there isn't really any consumer use for these batteries... Typically they're put in electronics that aren't meant to be "user replaced" (i.e. laptop battery packs, other battery packs, etc). I think that's mostly why they don't bother to mark them any better... They know it's really never gonna get seen anyway... :)
