So I recently got back into vaping. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the new toy bug bit me. I recently got a nemesis and an orchid v4 clone with a magma on the way. I did all my research on this forum but I ran into a snag. I've decided to go with a single 1ohm(it) micro coil. A couple feet of Kanthal wire later, and I am finally getting decent looking coils. When I test it out on the ohm meter I am getting the desired resistance, but to be extra safe (paranoid) I am hooking it up on an iStick. I still haven't fired up the nemesis because I would like to perfect my coils and avoid any issues to be on the safe side.
First problem: The resistance that shows up on the iStick is lower than on the ohm reader. I know the iStick is not of the highest quality so that could be part of it, but it makes me question the safety of the atomizer.
Second problem: Same as above, orchid tests out around 1 ohm, but when I put it on the iStick I sometimes get an "atomizer short" message on the iStick. Playing with the coil eventually gets me a reading of resistance, but like above, lower than on the ohm meter.
I've inspected the coils, there's no overlapping of wire and the deck is not touching the cols. What could be causing this? Could there be a problem with the orchid since it is a clone?
Any and all feedback is welcome. Thank you in advance.
