Carolyn, without a doubt, filling and fiddling with carts and fillers is one of the two most frustrating things about vaping. (The other is battery life.)
I started with an 801 then added a 510. I liked both but went primarily with the 510 once I got my Little Chuck. The solution for me has been the 510 cartomizers. Once you fill them, they last for a good, long time. Refilling is easy (I use the condom method for one with the glued-in top but just drip into the ones that I've removed the top from.)
If you're interested in trying them, you can get an adapter for about $2.50 so you can use your 901 batteries. I'd recommend the soft top cartos with the top removed and a drip tip instead. (The drip tips fit both 520s and 901s so, if you don't like the carto, you'll still be able to use the tip.)
