All,

Thanks so much for your help and guidance!

For my gf and I, we ended up getting a Joye eGo starter kit with the mega attys and mega carts that also came with the button protectors and a drip tip ($65). We also got a Joye eGo starter kit with the 510 attys, cones, and 510 carts ($50). I figured we would have the most flexibility starting out that way.

I also ordered some juice...
Peachy menthol, fire & ice, minthia, & silver leaf menthol (tonic from pure smoker)
Apple (house of vapor)
and arctic menthol (johnson creek)

So, now the wait begins...

To make sure we don't run out of supplies,
how long do the attys last? (510 & Mega)
how long do eGo batteries last? (before you have to replace them)
are there cartos for the mega?
good place to get cartos for the 510?

SO EXCITED!!!

Welcome and hope you both enjoy vaping! I remember how exciting this was when I started vaping. It still is exciting seven weeks later.

Atties will last who knows how long. This can vary, depending on how well they're taken care of and the original quality of the atomizers. I don't use atties very often, but I've seen people say they lasted a week up to several months.

eGo batteries will last who knows how long. They are fairly new, so this will also depend on how well they are taken care of, how long you leave them on the charger after they're fully charged, how much they get knocked around, how often you clean out the threaded ends, how often you recharge them, etc. I've read that they should take about 500 charges.

Yes, there are cartos for the Mega. The Mega eGo batteries (650, 750, 900, 1000, and 1300mAh) all have 510 threads, so any carto that has 510 threads will work. There are eGo Mega cartomizers, some people like them and some don't (I don't). I don't like the bland taste, don't like having to use a needle to fill them, and don't like that they only last me about 1/2 hour before I get the burnt taste, even though there's about 2mL of liquid inside.

I prefer the KR808D-1 cartos, which I use with my eGo batteries and 510-battery to 808/901-atomizer adapters (99 cents at goodprophets.com, the cheapest price I've found, and they work very well), because the KR808D-1 cartos have better flavor, vapor, and throat hits than other cartos. I also use the Boge 510 soft cap cartomizers, but I'll probably quit using those in the near future when the ones I have are no longer vapable (that is, when they develop the funky taste and I'm ready to discard them).

I buy my cartos from litecigusa.net for $7.95 for a box of five. I rotate about 30 cartos and refill each carto about every hour, since I vape a lot and go through about 6mL of liquid every day. When I rotated 15 cartos, in the beginning and was refilling at least 12 of them every day, they lasted about two to three weeks before getting the funky taste, but I made the mistake of soaking them in boiling hot water, and that caused the fillers to shrink by 33% and degraded their performance overall.

I'm currently rotating 30, because I recently bought 15 KR808D-1 cartos and 15 Boge 510 cartos. I also still have 20 Boge 510 cartos that I've used for the last four weeks and recently soaked and flushed them out using hot tap water (my description of how I flush out cartos is in my blog, accessible over at the left under my avatar). They've been drying in front of a fan for the last 3½ days, so I'll be testing them later today or tomorrow to see how they taste.

Litecigusa (Jason) ships the same or next day, has great customer service and lower prices than many other suppliers. They ship from PA and only charge $2 for the USPS shipping fee for orders under $75 and zero for orders $75 or more. He also has a rewards system, where you earn rewards when you buy products and can redeem them for discounts on future orders.

Congrats on your new purchases! I think you'll be very pleased with them. I've had the same 650mah batteries and regular attys for over a month now and they're still going strong. I've also had the same 4 Mega atty's for almost three weeks. Again, still going strong. I've also just started using the Mega cartos and so far I'm happy with them. They are kind of a PITA to fill, but I don't mind syringes and such. All of this stuff I ordered from LiteCigUSA, too. I've had nothing but excellent service from them and speedy delivery. The only other places that I order from are MadVapes and LibertyFlights.

I get juice from Gourmet Vapor (if you use the code "box50", you'll get 50% off your order, but tomorrow is the last day for this) and VaporBomb. Make sure you have plenty of juice and don't be afraid to try different flavors. You never know when something like strawberry or peach or snickerdoodle will end up being your all-day vape.

You made some really good choices on your hardware purchases. Now you need to begin building up a good spares kit - attys, batteries, etc.. Good luck to you guys on your vaping journey.

I would check out the China suppliers for hardware spares - EastMall, HealthCabin, and GreenHouse One - excellent prices, and good service.

Cignot is a great supplier and closest to Michigan for me, but they don't quite carry everything I need to buy periodically. Seems I've been buying most everything, except for juice, from litecigusa.net lately, because they carry more products that I wanna buy.

Why China, Banjo? They have higher shipping fees, worries about packages being held up at Customs, more hassles to return items, and longer waiting times for deliveries. Are all these disadvantages worth ordering from China suppliers just because they have slightly lower prices?

Thanks for the words of encouragement. What would be a good spares kit? For the two of us, we will have 2 extra batteries and 2 attys spare once our kits arrive.

I was worried about ordering direct from china - even though all this stuff is made there. I figured a domestic "middleman" could be a big help and worth a but more cost if they can resolve any issue I have with orders quickly.

My thoughts exactly. But, if they do indeed have good customer service then I suppose it doesn't hurt to save some money.
