So I just ordered, from Hoosier E Cig Supply, the following:

- kGo kit
- smok tech Dual Coil Cartomizers for 510 Dual coils:1.5 ohm stainless steel w/logo XL x 6
- smok tech Dual Coil Cartomizers for 510 Dual Coils:Clear XL 1.5ohm w/logo x 3

- 5 pack of 1.7ohm single coil XL cartomizer, by Smok Tech
- Pre-filled(USA Mix) 510 round cartridges 18mg x 10

All 10ml:

- E-Liquid "house blends:Red Bull Energy Nicotine Level:24mg base:60pg/40vg

- E-Liquid "house blends:Hawaiian Punch Nicotine Level:18mg base:60pg/40vg

- E-Liquid "house blends:Tropical Punch Nicotine Level:12mg base:100vg
- E-Liquid "house blends:Caremel Cappuccino Nicotine Level:12mg base:100vg

- E-Liquid "house blends:Hazelnut Coffee Nicotine Level:18mg base:60pg/40vg

I have some typical newbie, "should have asked before I bought" questions:

First off, did I do good? Should I have gotten less to start, juices with less PG or VG, different cartos?
Secondly, is there any clear "once you get everything, this is how it works" guide? From what I gather, I can just drip the juices into the cartos, and the regular prefilled carts just get screwed on.

Any other assorted tips/tricks would also be welcomed.

Finally, I would like to give a big "thank you" to this forum. Definitely a helpful place, and I've used it as pretty much my only resource in the run-up to buying this stuff.

I have the Kgo too. Wasn't too impressed with his house blend juices though. You are doing great. The pre-filled cartridges are ok, nothing great. You can use the atomizer to drip juices in to taste them until you know you like them enough to fill a cartomizer. You'll need a drip tip, but until you get one you can use the round white tip that comes on the cartomizers.

I bought the clear cartomizers and they broke quickly. The ones I have had good luck with are the black ones. I think you will like the 1.7 cartos and the dual coil 1.5 cartos.

The way I fill a cartomizer: They have clear rubber caps on them. I take those off. Then I take off the white cap with a toothpick. I fill the clear rubber cap halfway or so with juice. Then I sit the cartridge on it and slowly slide it down while squeezing the rubber cap. I repeat this until the carto looks slushy. It's about 3 times. Wipe it off and blow out the bottom gently to clear it. Then I take what's left in the cap and squeeze it into the top of the cartomizer. Replace the white tip or put a different tip on, and you are good to go.

I went to youtube, like always. There's a video for everything. Plus I talk to Brent from Hoosier. I only live a short distance from him. So that helped me out. As for to much juice, I probably would have went with the 5ml just to try them out. I recently received some pumpkin spice juice in 10ml and will never use it again. Now from my experience the 60/40 produces a good amount of vapor it seems like it clogs my cartos quicker.

Yeah I may have went a little overboard with the juices, the prices for this stuff aren't too high so I couldn't help myself ;p I wanted at least some VG in everything, simply because it seems like there's a lot of complaints about sore throats from newbie's like myself using just PG juice.

I didn't even think about the drip tips... Would have grabbed one. Whoops. Good to know that filling up the cartos isn't rocket science though. I guess I thought it was more involved just from reading some of the "advanced" techniques people use ;p

Drip tips aren't really necessary, but they look nice and feel good on your lips.

Sounds like you have a great start. I would just experiment with that for awhile; don't want to get overwhelmed.

I think a syringe is the easiest way to fill a carto, some disagree. As long as you get it full it doesn't really matter what method you use. Just make sure you don't run them dry. Swap out or top off cartos often. Once you get a burnt taste they're gonners.

Yes, you did good. I would not have bought the cartridges myself. Must don't use them anymore. The first thing I would do is drip. Put the atomizer on the kgo, pull the black top off the atty so you can see the exposed coil inside. Then, drip about five drops of juice onto the coil. Put black top back on (its a mouth Mouthpiece) and take a drag. once it starts to taste different, kinda burnt (you'll know) drip 3-4 more drops. repeat.
Try your juices that way. If you like the juice fill a Cartomizer with it. As someone else mentioned, YouTube is a great place to learn how to fill cartos. The key is to make sure they are full on the first fill and never let them get dry.

You should try the echo dual cartomizers from mountain vapor with your KGO, they also have very good menthol :)

You should try the edcc from anywhere (lots of vendors have them) with your kgo...they're my very fav (I've tried boge, 1.7 sc, 1.5 dc, tanks, and smokeymizers) soon....what you have is an excellent start! ;)

One of the great things about the kgo is its versatility.
Personally I threw out the prefilled carts that came with mine (yuk!) though if you don't e them you can remove the filler and wash them out and use a juice you like with them.

Now just sit back smile and wriggle with excitement! You did great!) May want to get a drip tip in your next juice order, they're just an awesome mouth piece and essential or "dripping" if that's something you'd like to do. You'll still be able to vape without it just makes vaping easier IMHO.

The first week can a little difficult. You're body is and will be detoxing from all the extra added chemicals in analogs. Remind yourself you are getting nicotine with your e-cigg. Another thing that helped me personally was positive reinforcement for my PV/e-cigg (this is fun! it tastes good. this will better my health, ect) while using negative reinforcement for analogs(these are stinky, they're the #1 cause of house fire death, smokes are bad for my health and wallet, ect). Don't be too hard on yourself if you fall back onto smokes not everyone can make the change in a day or two, and that's okay. Your mindset in the beginning though I personally think can play a big role in your success. Good luck and welcome to ECF!

I think you'll love the 1.7ohm cartos on your kGo. I use them on an which is a 3.7V PV like the kGo and they work great. They produce a lot of vapor and hold a good bit of juice so they last pretty long. If you like those cartos, Crystal Clear Vaping also sells them. CCV calls them the Ressurectors. I buy all my cartos from there. They have free ahipping which is nice when you juat wana buy some cartos. They also give a free syrInge with all carto purchases and if you buy a 15-pack you get a syringe and a drip tip. That syringe is perfect for filling, and I def think using a syringe is the easiest Way to fill a carto. It's quick and ensures they are filled correctly. I find the condom doesn't work as well on XL cartos like the 1.7ohm and dual coils.
Hoosier does have some decent juices but I find their pretty thick, even the 60/40, and thick juices def clog cartos quicker.
30% VG or less normally works the best in cartos. Personally I like 80/20.

Thanks for all the replies...

I went on youtube and, sure enough, there's a ton of videos demonstrating the basics. Good to see how it's done rather than just read about it. I think for the time being I'll stick with either the condom or regular drip fill method for the cartos - the syringe method looks the cleanest, but is personally not something for me...

One more question - from what it looks like, I can still drip without having a drip tip, correct? I just drip straight on the atomizer, throw an empty cartridge on, and that's it? I assume it's easy enough to rip the filler out of one of the cartridges. I'll have to get a drip tip, just don't feel like paying shipping on a $1 item.

Okay, good to know I can drip without it. I usually do a bit more research before I buy something, guess I got a little too excited and pulled the trigger a bit early. I actually just got the shipping notification an hour or two ago, so here's hoping that it comes quick. In the meantime, I'll look for a place that sells a decent sample pack of juices and also carries drip tips.

....you've gotten good advice...all that I would add is keep you cartos wet...a burnt carto is a terrible thing...also, just North(or West) of you is York Pa, home of BlueMist Vaping Supplies a custom juice blender with over 250 flavs...they have great deals on sampler sizes...no drip tips though, all they sell is juice and DIY supplies...I believe they also have an active vapers club as well......

You did good. But next time I bet you don't buy prefilled cartos.
Here is my take on How to fill a Carto

First, Take the silicone condom off the end of the carto with the white top. Leave the condom on the threaded end. Then take off the white top of the carto. If you have a syringe,(18ga.) load it with 1ml of liquid and slide the needle down the side of the carto and fill from the bottom . A few more drops from the bottle until the top of the filling starts to look “slushy”. If you don’t have a syringe, just slowly drop drop drop about 20-40 drops. (drop sizes vary, 1.0 ml is the target) Let the drops go down the side of the carto, constantly turning it, not into the hole in the middle. Every 10 drops or so it may help the flick the carto like you would a thermometer to force the liquid to the bottom of the carto. Continue until the top of the filling is “slushy” and the juice stops absorbing into the filler. If you have a drip tip, throw away the white end cap thingy and use the drip tip, otherwise pop the white thingy back in place to vape and then get online and order some pretty drip tips.
I know it may seem complicated, but it really is not

One more thing. Don't vape too long without topping off the carto or you will burn it. You'll get a feel for when you need to top off, (too warm, dry or reduced flavor) but until you do, do it often. If the filler is white, top off. If it takes more than 10 drops to get that slushy look on the filler, you may have waited too long.

EDIT: I was thinking reg. size cartos, yours should take 1.4-1.5 ml.
