Experiment with small batches first until you find one you like. Read the TFA recipe thread (it's huge). Set aside any first attempts that you don't like...they often get better with time (steeping).

Oh, and your first bottle should probably be unflavored (at your chosen nic level). You might be surprised how much you like it. If not, you can always use it in a future flavored batch.

Welcome to all you newer folks :)

Kevo, you have plenty of posts in now - you can ask more specific questions directly in the DIY threads. Read the blogs by Hoosier and Danny45. Like Dfinch says, start small and get to know your flavor bases. Taste is all subjective - you'll see lots of recipes with "recommended" (a.k.a. what that maker likes) proportions. You will just have to start with something and then adjust to what *you* like.

I've been at this for a few months now, and I still rarely make a bottle larger than 10mL. I'm too "flavor-ADD", and I like lots of variety.

Welcome to the new people and grats to those who quite smoking!

With DIY you going to have to know what flavors you like and order flavors that will support them. Some basic flavors that most have in their arsenal would be cheesecake, vanilla, baverian cream, vanilla custard, maybe strawberry, some tobacco flavors, ect. You will learn more when your able to get into the DIY section and there is a ton of good information that should be read before ordering anything so you have a good idea of what your going to need and what your getting into.

I ordered everything from wizardlabs
They are a good source.
I assume you have downloaded the e-juice me up calculator

I suggest you start with making small 2ml sample tests of each flavor solo.
That way you can see if you like it, how strong it is, and what it will contribute to a recipe.
There are a lot of flavors that are good all by themselves, and that gives you something to vape while trying and tweaking recipes, plus, solo flavors don't have to steep.
DIY is a long learning experience before finding what you like, but there is a lot of help here in the DIY section
You will learn a lot, and feel free to ask questions ... ps .. there are no dumb question when it comes to launching into DIY
Welcome to your new hobby.
