Zero nic for first DIY

I'm so excited, my vapemail arrived today with all of my "starter" DIY supplies! I plan on mixing up a small (3ml) batch of each flavor that I got just to get a good sense of what I'm dealing with. However, I think I want to make these without my nic base so that I'm not waisting money if I screw up on my first shot. If I do this will the flavor of the zero nic mixes be the same as when I make a 15mg batch? Does nicotine affect the flavor?

If it makes any difference, I ordered 60ml of 60mg (PG base) and 60ml of 60mg (VG base) from MFS.

I personally always mix my liquids at 12mg. At 0mg it just doesn't feel right imo. I've read some posts here that nicotine also has it's own very slight flavors, although I wouldn't be able to tell really. Try mixing at 0, 6, and 12mg and see if there's a difference. I think it's a matter of personal preference really.
