Do, please. It obviously has adjustable power levels. You don't say what tank or dripper you intend to use on it, but starting at low wattage and working up seems to be a good idea. And yes, do make sure the wick is completely soaked before firing it to avoid burning the wick and having to replace it. Most of the people who have gotten into trouble with LiPos have abused them. I don't use them, myself, but my reading indicates they are vulnerable to impact stress or punctures, things of that nature. It's possible to fry one in a cheap piece of gear, if the circuitry is poorly devised or implemented. I don't know that mod, as I said, but it doesn't look like a cheap one. The only price I have seen on one exceeded USD100. There are a lot of LiPo mods out there. The iStick 30 watt machine, for example, is produced in hundreds of thousands if not millions of copies and never a lick of trouble that I have heard. Conversely its big brother, the iStick 50, had some quality control issues when first manufactured and they had some problems in the beginning. The best advice I can give you is to pay attention to it until you are comfortable. Batteries tend to get hot before they do something really ugly. If the mod starts getting hot in your hand, that's when I'd start to worry about it.

A Double E could do that, certainly. Depending on the size of the mod, it might or might not be possible to fit in a battery with safer chemistry. I wouldn't, if I were you. Read the manual, do as it says, don't charge it unattended, and don't worry about it unless it starts to get hot is my advice. If that still worries you, sell it unopened and buy a different mod. Right off the bat, I can't call to mind a regulated wood-bodied mod that uses IMR chemistry batteries, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could find one; I'm certain a custom mod maker could make one; and wood unregulated mods can be easily found. Bear in mind you hold your safety in your own hands with an unregulated mod, regardless of battery type.
