I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question, but am trying to get an order together for myself and two other people, and need to know.

All I've tried to this point are the disposables from Madvapes (love them!) But I've gotten all I can out of them and need to place an order for the real deal, along with some accessories. Some background...... I ordered an assortment of e-liquids when I ordered the disposables. As I used up one of the pre-filled cartridges that came in my kit, I would rinse the filler out, air dry it, then use my own liquid, but I never got the same satisfaction as with the pre-filled cartridges. My disposable batteries and attys must still be in good shape 'cos I had one of the unopened pre-filled cartridges left, and used it the other day. Even tho my "disposable" batts and attys have been used many times over, the enjoyment when putting in the new pre-filled cart far surpassed the enjoyment I've had when refilling the cartridges on my own. (Sorry I tend to use too many words to explain things....) I even tried out the Lipton tea bag method (except with a cheaper generic tea bag) to no avail.

So bottom line.....2 questions:

1. Does "filler" come in the "blank" cartridges so that I only need add e-liquid, or do I need to add filler AND liquid? I'd prefer to refill my own to save $ IF I can figure out how to get the same effect as with the pre-filled.

2. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong that I'm not enjoying my refills as much as the prefills?

Thanks in advance for any advice. Dunno what I'd do without this forum!

Ya'll ROCK!

Yes it does.
:)

My first thought is that you are not drying your filler enough.

I smash it between a paper towel a few times until there is absolutely no trace of water.
Only takes a minute that way, and it definitely works.

Blank carts come with filler and I've read that the blue foam from petco is also good The filler in those carts is that polyester batting they use in pillows and I got a comfoter with some in it. But as the previous person posted make sure your filler is really dry and don't mash it inte a clump when putting it back in keep it fluffed up in the cart. Hope that helps. O and if you run your cart completely out after you fill them prime your atty with a drop. good luck.

Just a note on 5cardstud's comment about the filler being the same thing as whats used in pillow stuffing or comforters........

Be careful purchasing these poly matterials specific for that purpose. Most poly or cotton used for pillow/comforter stuffing is treated, and at worse, treated with a fire ......ant that you really want to avoid as a vaping medium.

As others have mentioned, its important after washing your existing filler too make sure it is dried very well of water and the paper towel method works great (personally, I prefer first to use Iso Propyl alcohol then rince with distilled water).

If you've happened to run your cart dry to the point that you've scorched or discolored your cart filler material from overheating, its time to dispose and replace it (go through the modders cartridge forum for suggestions and choices).

Its equally important to also clean your cart housings and again dried well (I use Iso Propyl alcohol then distilled water).

I state Iso Propyl for its dissinfectant properties, and "distilled" water for its absence of contaminants and additives found in tap water.

The above methods have done me well for over a year of vaping.....

I find that after you fill a cart, put a cap in it and let it sit for a day. I'm not sure why but for me, this works better than just filling it and then using it. Leaving it sit for a day somehow must let the juice soak in better or something because mine always performs better after sitting a day. I do this even after replacing the polyfil (I use fluval water polishing pads for filler - works great). Fill and let sit for a day. I might note that I use a 901 so this may not work for others but it does for me and my 901.

Thanks so much to all of you for your suggestions! I'm eagerly awaiting for the mailman again today. As I posted earlier, I've only used the 510 disposables so far, which came with auto batts and round carts. I really really liked them but now have manual batteries and flat tip carts on the way! Oh please please please let it be today dear Mailman!

I think I solved my tea bag mod issue.....I was just making mine with plain ol' tea bags, thinking why would it matter if it was pyramid shaped or not? Well, I re-watched (no audio on my laptop these days) a youtube video last night and see that it isn't just the shape, but the material is completely different on the pyramid bags. Am I right? If so, I'm getting the pyramid bags today.
