I have never, ever ordered from Ali Express or Silk Road etc. I think my kiddo has occasionally, but he's gotten burned (and not vape equipment, either).

So no, I have not ordered vape equipment off there and I wouldn't advise anyone to do so either, not when there are enough Chinese resellers of vape equipment and etc. that are actually legitimate, offer warranties and etc. Really, it's worth the extra 8 bucks or whatever.

Are you sure it was Silk Road?
That was a black market online drug dealer website...

Picked up a pair of eLeaf Pico Duals there, a pair of Ijoy Capo Squonkers, one of my eLeaf 21700's and currently waiting for another GreekVape Zeus.. Also wiring harnesses and 500ML chemical bottles for storing my eliquid.

Sometimes the shipping is slow, depends on the store you buy it from. Ali is a bunch of stores, not just one.

I've actually started using AliExpress not that long ago, several purchases done with no issues.

I see it as very similar to Amazon.

The "bad" experiences I had was one tank that came in various colours, and the two sellers that I tried, so to get anything but the "rainbow" (so either black, gun metal or silver), that even if they had the other colours on the ad, they responded that they were out and tried to insist on having me take a rainbow, which I refused (one offered extra gifts), but I did get refunded, so it's all good in the end (except that I wasn't able to get the tank I wanted).

Hey, I'm looking at getting the voopoo drag. My local shop sells it for 80 bucks but it's 40 on Ali express. That online store is known for being cheap, so I'm a little hesitant. Anyone order vape stuff from there before?
The thing that is most notable about Chinese purchasing sites is the relationship between price and shipping time. Prices age generally lower, and shipping times are generally longer. Weeks instead of days.

The Voopoo drag is a fairly common mod readily available from American online stores for $40-$50. You might spend an extra 5 dollars but you'll have the mod in a few days as opposed to a few weeks. Just a suggestion.
Brick and mortar shops are normally more expensive but they are easier to find if you have a problem.

I ordered my Vapor Storm Puma from a vendor on Ali Express - no problems at all and very happy with my purchase! Shipping took about 2 1/2 weeks to reach me, but it was coming from China! I would use Ali Express again! My experience was positive with AliExpress.
There are many vendors on that site- they are reviewed too, just like Amazon or EBay.
I see that Heaven Gifts even has a store on AliExpress.
Sorry I can't help you with Canadian Vendors as I am in the US.
There is also Fasttech, Heaven Gifts, and Gearbest, 3F and other China sites too.

Aside some stores that are within the country, I find that it's hit and miss from just about anywhere when it comes to shipping time.

I've had lots of stuff from Asia that took days, stuff from the US that took weeks (to the point that it's been so horrible ordering from the states that I stopped getting anything from the US now), heck, stuff from my own country that took weeks.

So I'll order from the places that show proper service, and hope for the best for the shipping time. Again, I've had items that took weeks, others that took days, from the same place, so it's hard to say where the delays end up being.

Can you suggest some sites? I'm in Canada but as long as it ships here.
    As what SnapDragon said:

Fasttech has been my main online store: FastTech - Gadgets and Electronics

Gearbest at times when Fasttech didn't have the items I wanted: GearBest: Online Shopping - Best Gear at Best Prices

Now, Ali express is becoming another go-to: Find Quality Wholesalers, Suppliers, Manufacturers, Buyers and Products from Our Award-Winning International Trade Site. Wholesale Products from China Wholesalers at Aliexpress.com.

    Local in Canada:

Canvape is probably the best online store we have, had good experiences with them: www.CANVAPE.com

I've also used (and they were also fine) Happy vaper: Happy Vaper - Canada's Go-To Shop for e-Cigarettes and e-Liquid. Since 2009 - Free Shipping over $99.

And also Dash vape that I've never purchased from but appear to be fairly well regarded: USA Vape Shop - Electronic Cigarettes (Ecig Mods/Liquid/Starter Kit), eJuice, Vape Mods & Liquid, Vaporizers | DashVapes - US at DashVapes.com
