Ordering tank or rda to replace protank

I've had nothing but problems with my kangertech protanks the last couple of weeks. I'm gonna order either a rebuildable or a new tank.

My issue: I need it to be simple and reliable. Never dealt with a rda, or drip tip whatever it's called. I liked my protanks when I got them but now they're nothing but problems for me (leaking, atomizers burning up too fast, PITA!)
What do you guys recommend? Looking to order from fasttech. Any suggestions please? I like a larger amount of vapor but don't know if I want to get into the dripping atomizers.

Carto tank would be my suggestion. That was my progression after a nasty day at work fighting for a good vape between 3 PT's. All had new heads In them and full to the brim with good liquid. Brought them home, cleaned them out and sold or gave them away. I will never use one again.

Use the search button for many threads and blog entries about carto tanks. It is the natural next step.

I had the same troubles with my Protank, and it was a thorn in my side. I just wanted a decent and consistent vape, and it was so very unreliable. I found myself rewinding the coils all the time, and it got to be a real hassle. I could make a good coil, but they didn't last long, and then there was the gurgling/leaking issues.

I went to an RBA, and never looked back. Like you I was using a mech, which really is made for rebuildables. My current atty is an RSST, which I find easy to set up and gives me consistent good vapes. I'm very happy with it

If you want to go the dripper route there are many here who can advise you better than I can, my first dripper is still in transit and I don't have it yet. If you want an atty that you can vape on for hours, without having to mess with it, like the Protank was supposed to be, you might want to consider the RSST.

Simple and reliable...

Normally i would say protank. But yes... i also go trough heads pretty quick with this.
An Aspire maybe? I got one... and it vapes better than a protank. i'd say. Don't have
it long enough/haven't put it trough its paces, but so far so good.

Carto-tanks would be another option. I don't use these anymore, and i don't think
the vape is a big improvement over the protank. There is some fiddle-factor settting
a new tank up, but once it runs it runs... no problems whatsoever.
So if you want a hassle-free vape i would seriously consider these.

RBA: A Kayfun lite plus/Squape/Taifun GT. It doesn't get any easier than that with RBAs.
No leaks, gurgles or dry hits... ever. If set up with a micro-coil & cotton all you have to do is
dry burn the coil and exchange the cotton-wick once in a while... 2 mins. It can go a month+ before
an actual recoil. Filling is also easier than a carto-tank.
Gennies... i wouldn't recommend these as a first RBA. There's quite the learning curve to them
and the fiddle-factor is high. Anything but simple and reliable.... imo.

Putting a word in for the Igo-L as an introduction.

I haven't used many different rebuildables to compare against, but you can also look at that as giving more strength to my recommendation - I don't really know what I'm talking about, but found them *very* easy to rebuild. 2 - 4 hours of playing around, and you'll know what you're doing, and be able to build a coil in something like 20 minutes, doubtless less if you keep doing it regularly.

Tastes good too.

so far I am a big fan of the BCC tanks. While I havent had that many issues with my protank 2, I do feel its a bit airy.
I tried a ismoka mega bcc, and I really like that tank. can get them for a little over $10. It is a plastic tank so I have to be careful what juices are in it, but I enjoy the tank a lot.

Thanks guys. My uncle said he's gonna order me a trident. It's free, I'll see how that goes. I really do want an RBA tank though so well see how I do with the trident for a few. I'm also going to order a new mod. I'm going to give the trident about a week to show me it's worth keeping or not. A tank just seems more "me" than and RDA. Anyone have experience with the trident?

I like it a lot. Easy to build on.
Different airhole configurations.
Tastes great as well, if you don't do stupid low ohms.

I like evods OK, but they don't hold much....i'd been using my PT1 and 2 because they held more but I had issues with both. 1 I hated mouth on it, and 2 I had to unscrew until it wobbled in order to get ANY airflow. I recently swapped bases and PT2 seems to be working a bit better.
I decided to finally buy a cartotank after avoiding them for quite some time and i'm in LOVE....but thats me

Protank (with stock coil heads) + a mechanical mod = a frustrating vape. But you've already found that out.

My suggestion: save your kanger coil heads. buy a digital multimeter, some 30g Kanthal wire and a bag of sterile cotton balls from your local pharmacy, google some YouTube vids on rebuilding protank/evod coils and make yourself a micro coil with cotton. Shoot for 1.3 - 1.5 ohms. And enjoy. Then, when you are ready, get yourself an RSST, AGA-T3, Russian 91% or KFL or or one of their various clones.

I've used Smok's Trophy Tank for about a week. I like it very well, and believe it to be better than the Kanger T3s. It does look remarkably like the Protanks, so maybe it will develope the same faults some have described. Anyhow, it doesn't leak and the glass tank shows no sign of melting or coming unglued - yet.
