We're happy to accommodate orders for other forum members, regulars, your friends and family, etc... BUT, we need the following to happen...

Separate orders - the production team is relatively new so the entire production process stops and a 30 minute conversation ensues over how to put in a manual order if the order isn't split when the order is placed. Please, do not place "one big order" and ask us to manually split it and "send this bottle to XXX, and these bottles to YYY". It also results in us paying separate postage for the second order which is generally overlooked.

Provide an correct shipping address - We understand the value of a surprise, we really do. That said, the team has limited ability to modify orders - that means (aside from the separate order), that order needs to have a complete "real name" and shipping address populated when it's placed (otherwise another 30 minute managerial intervention is required so we can dig up a shipping address for another customer).

Privacy policy - please don't email us and ask for another customers shipping address - it's against our privacy to share data. If you don't know the address of the individual you want to ship to (in the case of a forum member) - we need you to obtain it.

The above is an effort to minimize the amount of managerial level interventions. Curve-balls such as these cause our entire production process to stop, limit our ability to get orders out accurately and promptly, and generally causes everyone to shake their head and as baby Jesus why. LMAO

Thank you for reading!

I'm blushing.
Sorry everyone!!!!

It's not just you embee - when it was just me and Katy working the production line we adopted a very liberal policy regarding splitting shipments... it's just different since we have delegated the production process. It's an inevitable side effect of growth - less flexibility. The guys don't have permission to arbitrarily change order data like the shipping address, etc. We're moving in a direction where we are trying to streamline the production process and reduce the number of times the guys drop everything and address the curve balls - and there's LOTS of them. (2-3-4/day)

I totally agree Clark and I support you in this. Since NT has just exploded, the old ... "Hey, would ya please send a bottle to my friend Ole What'shisname?" just isn't going to work for us anymore (yep, guilty as charged). However, we, the family, have to figure out how to do an order so that it can still be a surprise. This could take some scheming on our part.....

I'm afraid I've had my fingers in the pot as well. :?: While I completely understand and support the reasons for the change, unfortunately, this may inhibit the gifting process as most of us do not possess each others addresses. In terms of man hours, the hit of 1.5 - 2.0 hours a day from a typical work day puts a sizeable dent in production output. As they say, It is what it is.........Growing pains.

Guilty of sending bottles to this and that person. Don't know how I will be able to continue this and keep it a surprise. I am not willing to obtain someones address without their consent. Guess us gifters are going to have to reveal ourselves and ask the recipient for their address or stop gifting all together.

This is an undesired side-effect. We're kind-of in a bind. Part of what we are finding is that (sometimes) when the order is keyed with someone else's shipping address, the order confirmation goes to the person who ordered it via email. In as much as we believe all of you are on the up-and-up, we take privacy seriously... and even in the event of having something purchases for you, I can imagine none of you want us sharing your personal information with *anyone* (no matter how generous they are). It a trust and integrity thing.

We *LOVE LOVE LOVE* that you guys buy gifts for each-other, we really do. It really speaks to the quality of the people that dwell here, and we hope to be able to continue to help facilitate that... but you guys see the obstacles. Katy and I aren't always around (or if we are, we're busy) - so when the whole production line stops because "Hey... this invoice says we are supposed to send the bottle of XXX to YYY, but I have no idea who that is, and I don't have an address..." ...it always happens at the most inopportune times (I am in a business meeting, or Katy is on the phone or Olark chat with someone, etc).

The bottle line is... I need your help. A little bit of extra leg-work on your part will make our day-to-day process go sooooo much smoother. Mind you, I am a total push-over... I *hate* saying "no." Boundaries have never been my forte. I drive em nuts because I never say no and i need to be better about it

Just brainstorming here, ok, maybe it's more of a brainfart.... BUT, how about adding a gift option on the site? Those would go into a separate, non-priority queue, that would be dealt with as the appropriate people have time?

It would have to be used as a separate order, therefor it would automatically solve the problem of you eating the cost for two separate S&H charges....

Maybe add a "gift a friend" option on the site, where we could buy a bottle for a fellow ECF member, and they would receive a PM from Nicoticket saying something like:

"You have been gifted a 50ml bottle of Wakonda by dwroblewski (or have an anonymous option). To get your bottle, go to nicoticket.com and enter this code: xxxxxxxx."

That way, most of the leg work is done by the recipient, and all your staff would have to do is PM, based on the ECF username supplied by the gifter.

I know some web developers that could help make this happen on your site...
