So it came up in a conversation I was having the other day, and I'm not entirely sure what they are nor can I find anything online as of late pertaining to this particular law. I know that anyone 18-20 in Oregon can possess/use nicotine products but can't purchase them. But what about someone being of legal age to buy purchasing something for someone who is between the ages of 18-20? Is that illegal or is it not?

In general it is illegal for someone to purchase a age restricted product for someone that is not of legal age to purchase that product themselves.

That is what I was leaning toward. I thought I would ask because even before this previous conversation happened I had heard something to the effect of, since people 18-20 can still possess/use nicotine products that if it was bought for them that it wasn't a problem. These laws are so stupid because they are largely unenforceable unless the perpetrators have an IQ of 75 or less.
Not to mention, they encourage stealing.

Well, stupidity has never stopped Oregon lawmakers from making certain laws or Kate Brown from signing them.
