Sb663 6/3/2015 8:30 AM, room HR A

We need your help getting an exclusion from the clean air act allowing sampling in our shops. If you live in on of the following areas please call your Senator today!
Washington Co. Hass 503-986-1714
Eugene Edwards 503-986-1707
Hillsboro Riley 503-986-1715
Explain to them "We understand amendments are being drafted for SB 663. Store owners, customers and the entire industry are counting on your support to provide and exclusion to the Clean Air Act and allow us to sample products in our shops. This is an essential part to keep our businesses open and to help people stop smoking ".
Our goal is 1000 calls per District. Just a couple minutes of your time could help save the entire industry!

Also email anna.grimes@state.or.us to send written testimony in regards to SB663 and why sampling in shops is important.

For clarification.

Oregon Senate Cmte on Finance and Revenue to hold 6/8 work session on bill (SB 663), which would allow vaping in vape shops, increase the minimum age for tobacco and inhalant delivery system sales to 21 years, and require licenses for all retailers of tobacco and inhalant delivery systems.

Two amendments have been offered to SB 663, both of which would eliminate SB 663's allowing of vaping in vape shops, and both of which would keep the minimum legal age at 18 for sale of tobacco and vapor products (technically "inhalant delivery systems").

Since the primary beneficiaries from the two amendments (which appear identical) to SB 663 are Big Tobacco manufacturers and tobacco retailers in Oregon, they are probably behind the amendments.

Thanks Bill for further expanding and clarifying. Thankfully they gave us a bit more time before the next hearing as the last scheduled one was moved to Monday.

Also good to note is that Cigarette lobbyists are pushing for a Tax Per mL as well, The NWVA and CASAA have no further information aside from the fact that the budget is being worked on, and to potentially expect a tax included. Here is the CASAA link CASAA: Oregon Call to Action (URGENT): Take Action NOW to oppose 2 bills that would SEVERELY limit access to and use of vapor products!
