I too use the organic cotton balls from Walgreens. I couldn't find any unbleached so I went with the peroxide bleached 100% natural organic.

I had no luck finding a roll either, but rest assured, the balls have almost a woven texture to them and you can pull a nice piece off. By the time you roll it out, it'd be plenty long enough for most applications I can think of.

Just throwing it out there in case you decide to go with the cotton balls.

While it may not help in the short term, I grow cotton as an ornamental flower. (No risk of pests here, therefore legal). It's not hard to grow, even in the north. I do not know if it's considered 'organic' or not, but I pop the seeds on the south side of the house, water them, and let them do their thing. Since there's no natural pest for cotton here, I never spray them, and they do not require fertilizer either. I'm more interested in the flower than the crop, but I probably have a couple of pounds of raw cotton from this year's harvest. I tend to salvage the seeds in the spring and toss the cotton. (I prefer silica wick). If it weren't frowned upon here at ECF, I'd freely offer you the cotton bolls. However, a quick Google search shows that many places have cotton bolls for sale. Don't see why you couldn't boil those and card them for your use. Good luck!

"Contents: Certified Organic Cotton Whitened with Hydrogen Peroxide"... ehh...

Finding natural unbleached cotton fiber is next to impossible - even online. I know, I've been looking for months. If someone has a link or experience with a supplier, I'm interested too.

I have some local farmers that grow cotton near to where I live, maybe I'll just pick some up from the side of the highway next time I see some.

It seems that crafters and gardeners really get into raw cotton. Maybe a search for raw cotton bolls would turn up the product that you're looking for.
